Snipers Vs Anything but infantry.

I play sniper almost all the time in BF2 so...

I have a little question:

Can sniper do ANYTHING at all agianst tanks and APCs? I know that we can snipe jeeps and helicopters, but it there anything for tanks?

I'm talking about good ways, not taking half a bar off by shooting all your ammo at it.

No, unless a support guy is ammo spamming you so you can nade spam.

There is nothing you can do against a tank and thats the way it should be. Destroying a tank is not the job of a sniper. Just spot the damn thing so your teammates can finish him off.

Actually in real life a sniper can aim for a tanks ammo magazine hoping it will spark the ammo causing it to explode. Its a tiny target though and almost impossible to hit when the tank is moving
Nothing a sniper can do in bf2 bout this tho. And i dont think it would be a good addition to the game anyway

I spot too much as it is, I spot before I shoot every time, and it's gotten me killed quite a few times.

But, a question,

How much dmage do claymores do to a tank or APC?

If I planted a claymore on each side of an APC before someone got in, how much damage would they do when they exploded.

it wouldnt. i tried it on a humvee and nothing happened however if a DPV runs over i think, it kills the driver but it is an anti infantry weapon and not and anti vechile. in real life the m95 is used to disable rader and is one shot kill however since it is just a game im gald it cant one shot kill and take out tanks and apc.

the claymores can take out the light jeeps but the m95 can take away like 1-2 bars of life from a blackhawk

i heard somewhere that there are windows in the front of an apc m95 can shoot through to kill driver but i serously doubt that is true so nope no sniper v tank battles for you

You can destroy a buggy with two claymores, I tried it.

I call in artillery if I see a bunch of tanks as a sniper.

If you see a tank/APC you can start praying that he has not yet seen you. Start running to a place where you [b]are sure[b] that he can't see you as soon as you see him turn his back on you.
Pull out your surpressed pistol and shoot at him. It won't hurt him but it will sure as hell be very confusing and annoying for him because his hit indicators will go crazy

Snipers are not supposed to be engaging tanks. That is why there are 3 of the 7 kits to choose from have something that can destroy one.

Having spent 9 long years as a Air defence / radar Technician in the Britsih Army I was wondering how you could disable a RADAR using an M95. Seen as I now work for BAe designing guided weapon systems my colleagues and I would love to know where this fault was.

Who the Heck does this???

Kids who saw the discovery channel episode which featured some crap about "sniper rifles with guided rounds who can penetrate a tank´s ammo compartment" think the military does this. The video showed a .50 Cal rifle being fired against a british Chieftain which subsequently exploded in a huge fireball. Of course this is complete BS, but I´ve read people stating it as "truth" in quite a few internet forums in the last years.
