You've obviously never played operation flashpoint then - it was never about graphics, it was always about gameplay and massive environments
Armed Assault will look great when it comes out - if you've seen opflash for the xbox think of the graphics maxed out for 7800s and x1800s
plus the multiplayer will be insanely good

No other game has provided the experience that Flashpoint provided for me...it's just so real! I rememebr the mission where your chopper goes down and you're a POW and you have to escape the POW camp and find your way by looking at the stars because your map and everything is taken from you...and when you escape they send mechanized infantry after you ! loved it

Op Flashpoint did support straight forward capture the flag style gameplay on line but that was the simplist form. Co-op with interesting mission and complications was the best, plus you could actually make interesting SP missions pretty easily...
Is there a way to create your own maps for BF2? I keep hearing about modding and I am a little unsure. I am new to this game and would like some clarity. Also, if you can create a map or mod, can you play it on line?

Yes you can, but I don't know how... There are Modding and Mapping areas on this very forum...
