The gun in the MEC chopper is almost uselles, only if he hangs still then you can hit something.

But i was in a server and they where owning the black hawk, i was in the MEC chopper and we where taking flags and stuff, if we saw the BH then our pilot was hanging above him, and 2 Special Forces throw all the C4 down and explode them!! its really really effective and all the times BLACK HAWK DOWN!

now the MEC was not crying if they saw the BH like normally, but the Americans where crying for the big fat ugly chopper.

All the 8 times of mashtuur when i was in server we won! with MEC. just need ammo man-sf-engineer and you can own the BH. When i was there in the server almost everyone has grate ranking. The points of americans where around 80-90 (normally much more with the BH) and the MEC pilot constantly 200 points or more! it will say that this is a effective tric

The only effective way I've found against the BH, repeatedly, is the tank. As MEC, get the power plant. Take that tank and head for the Hill. There is a slope heading up to where BH spawns. Sit there and wait for the BH. When the BH lifts off heading to combat, you can get at least 2 clean shots into it and usually more.

The last time I played this map, I took out the BH at least 5 times before it ever got into the city-proper. After the 4-5 time, guys were spawning up there and charging me with every AT they had. Just make sure you get the tank spawn point and keep the BH from being effective.

On the 64 player version of the map, take one of the Vodniks from Hotel and drive northeast past the concrete wall by the Satellite Dish. This road takes you right to South Gas Station unmolested. If you brought several people you should easily get the flag. This way your team only has to down the Blackhawk once. :) A lot of times the Blackhawk will immediately head back to take South Gas Station. You can easily have two Jeeps and a Stinger waiting for him.

Just make sure the tank has a good driver...
1 tank round against the belly of the BH (directly below where the pilot sits), and byebye BH....

u would have to shoot straight up for that to happen.

You cannot shoot past/above a certain angle up in the tank.

noggin, the only problem i see with your tactic, besides being spawncamping, is that the BH is already spawned before you can reach the tank. if iys got a good crew, how are you meant to down it when it never needs to return to base to repair or rearm?

In case you didn't know, the BlackHawk tends to hover over flags...
Then (and pretty much everytime it flies low), it's easy to hit.

That's besides the point. Question at hand is whether its possible to litterally shoot strait up alone (90 degrees right up). Of course you dont need to shoot strait up since you could hit them as they travel away, or are in front of you hovering at a flag, but yea.

No the question at hand is if a tank can hit the BH in the belly. And the answer is simple. It can, because to go fowards the BH has to tip its nose down, giving u a clean shot behind of the belly. nuff said.

Decent T 90 owns a BH any day, just see that pilot poo his pants when a 3rd of his helos health drops away in one sweetly aimed second.

I like to think of it this way. If there is an unorganized squad in the BH, it is practically useless. Without a medic/support/engi in the right seat, the BH will go down quickly, or will be sent back to its helipad for repairs very often.

It takes a good, organized squad of 6 to keep the BH in the air. On the same hand, it takes a good, organized squad of 6 to take a BH down.

Thats why I believe that the BH is not overpowered, its just that alot of times 6 people can't/won't dedicate themselves to bringing it down. In all reality it doesn't really take 6 people, but for the purpose of the argument... If it takes 6 to keep it afloat, why shouldn't it take 6 to take it down.
