Way too long

Currently i am about to reach the 9,000 point mark. It feels like it will take me for ages to get to the next rank. I'm not in it for the unlock since i play with one kit all the time. Who cares if i get the support unlock or not, i want the rank.

Because of this i tend to lose intrest in the game. It's i'm playing for nothing now. In my opinion the game could use some more ranks so you have something to work for. I know some of you play the game all the time think i'm just whining, but i can't be the only one.

Guess i just need some good encouraging comments on this thread to get me going again. :cry:

Just quit. Extended periods of BF2 are not healthy.

It's worth just playing for fun. Don't ever think about your points. Try and think up new tactics or anything that might be interesting to experiment with.

Wait for the patch...maybe there will be more ranks between. If not, just take it slow. I am between the 20,000 and 50,000 ranks and it feels like a long time...but it will come. Just keep playing.

I feel the same way, way to long to move up in the ranks unless your a chopper or jet pilot. I try to focus on ribbons and badges.

You get more points on maps like karkand- or sharqi..
I find if i dont worry about points i seem to get more.

If you play for fun than the ranks will come. As it was intended higher ranking players should be better at the game, and I don't mean just a good K/D, lots of badges and what not, but overall play, since it takes experiance to learn how to play, ranks take time.

Dont worry i have only just past the 10000 mark and feal the same way,so you are not alone.


As people have said concentrate on the ribbons and badges and if you only use 1 class try useing a different 1 for a bit helped me anyway

Just play for fun. What does rank give you? Nothing really.

You should seen what it was like before the patch. 50 000 just to get to 4th or 5th rank.

I'm not going to be very encouraging. BF2 is not an MMORPG. If you don't enjoy the game for itself. Then I don't know what to tell you.

Did you ever play BF42? One of the best games.... gameplay wise possibly and prob a better game than BF2. And guess what... There were no ranks or stats! (GASP!) Yet it used to provide hours and hours of enjoyment.

If you like grinding things out for a little graphic medal. Try World of Warcraft or something.

If you are loosing interest in the game maybe you might want to try another kit? Try and be creative. Maybe start a round with a goal in mind. i.e. I'm going to keep the enemy assets down.. or I'm going to defend and repair our assets. The game if fairly diverse and detailed why don't you explore it more and ignore rankings.

If you play... Do it for the moment.. Do it for the team... Do it for the war stories.

No doubt. BF42 was sweet because everyone played to beat the other team, not pad their stats.

I still play only on ranked servers because the score, stats, ranks, unlocks are nice to get after awhile, but I don't really worry about them. I get them when I get them .... they are just gravy too an already enjoyable game.

There is nothing better than getting on a server where people are actually playing the game as it was intended. That makes for the best fights.

Basically, play the game. The stats and everything will come in their own time.
