How 'bout an option for pimp slapping a player. So when their health meter has only a couple bars left you could finish them off with a humiliating pimp slap.

Yeah kewl ... but I would rather have a sniper scope that could actually zoom in on a target. Heres hoping for the new sniper rifles in euro force.

There are ALWAYS opportunities to use the knife... you just have to follow the way of the sword, my friend.

Sure there are always OPPORTUNITIES to use the knife, but it's rarely the weapon you SHOULD use. The vast majority of knife kills are "because it's cool" or to get a badge, not because it was the only option (primary and pistol magazines empty).

I've always wondered if the knife and bayonet have any place in modern combat. They do, but not very often. They are a back up in extreme circumstances when you are out of ammo or don't have a functioning gun. They are also used for silent kills. Having the knife in BF2 is good enough for melee combat.

I'm surprised no one brought this up yet. The reason there is no melee combat is because that would raise the T rating to an M rating. I assume EA wants as many people to buy this game as possible and raising it to an M rating could put a dent in sales.
