umm yas.. thanks. gulf of warr syndrom you lost me here:Buy or make a cable to link your headset mic to both microphone inputs on your sound cards. I used a 3.5mm plug -> 2x 3.5mm socket (headphone double adaptor) and a short 3.5mm plug -> 3.5mm plug cable. It doesn't matter how you do it, just get your mic plugged into BOTH sound cards mic inputs simultaneously. also, i dont have onboard sound. i only have the sound card. i have nothing in my mother board. umm yah. i have a micrphone that has one slot for sound(because its a head set) and one for mic. sooo if that counts as what u were saying

Hmmm, no onboard sound hey? Are you sure? I haven't seen a motherboard manufactured without onboard sound since the days of Slot-1 processors!
Maybe you have one of the newer motherboards where the onboard sound is a SoundBlaster Live 24 bit.

In any case, the problem lies with the SoundBlaster Live 24 bit card.
You could buy a new, good quality sound card and remove/disable your existing one. Alternatively, you can get hold of an old el-cheapo PCI sound card (sound quality doesn't matter) and do the setup as I described above.

The trick with the two sound card setup is to route the single mic plug from your headset (usually the red/pink plug) into the two mic sockets - one on each sound card. You'll need an adaptor or cable to do this.

Like I said, I used a headphone double adaptor plugged into one mic input, this then gives two sockets on the back. I then plugged a short cable between one of these sockets and the other sound cards mic input. The mic plug from my headset then plugs into the other socket on the double-adaptor.
I used this configuration simply because it was what I had lying around.

i see what u mean, but i acant do that right now. dont got the money.any toehr ways? yesterday i unistalled my old driver and got a new one of of the creative wbe site. i havent tried to see if it workewd yet tho?

alright guys, i fized it. actually teh primary sound drive was the thing that was messing it up in teh first place. thanks alot to all of u. by guys
