    Need Help With Teamspeak!!!

    Hello everyone,

for about a year and a half now, my teamspeak has been giving me alot of problems. when i am talking on teamspeak to my freind someytimes my microphone will go totally wack. all my freidns hear is a veyr loud hissing sounds. so then i have to minimize BF2, close TS, then open TS again log on, then open up BF2 again. then about like one mineute later it happens again.

now at first i thought this was my sound card but im pretty sure it isn't, this is because i have tried many other mic chats like TS and it does not mess up

    please help!

    Run TS
    Run BF2
    Load a map in BF2
    Alt-tab out
Check Windows Mixer volumes (both playback and recording)
    Check TS Mixer volumes
    Alt-tab back into BF2

BF2 can wreak HAVOC on your mixer settings. And you MAY have to fix them each time a new map loads

My guess is that you have DSL, am I right? I do and have had that happen, annoying as hell for all parties. But I know why. I noticed that when I got a phone call and let my machine answer it, all I heard was "your mic's fubar again Pops" and I do what you have done to get it working again. I have filters going to the phone but it still happens.

My "fix", is to unplug the damn phone while I'm playing.

Well, unpluging my phone fixed it for me. So my suggestions are to:

              1. Reinstall TS.
              2. Inspect your cord, connection and reseat your sound card(if you have one).
              3. Udate your drivers.
              4. Adjust your sound settings(maybe wave).
              5. Get a new mic.
              6. Be unsociable.

Yep. I have the same problem, with Ventrillo or Teamspeak. It's not you!

                            Here's my solution:

                            - Enable your onboard sound again so you have two sound devices in Windows. Set your SB Live as the primary device, so this will be used by default in games etc.
                            - Setup your mic as normal for BF2 in game VoIP.
                            - Configure teamspeak to use your SB Live as the output device, but your onboard sound as the input device.
                            - Buy or make a cable to link your headset mic to both microphone inputs on your sound cards. I used a 3.5mm plug -> 2x 3.5mm socket (headphone double adaptor) and a short 3.5mm plug -> 3.5mm plug cable. It doesn't matter how you do it, just get your mic plugged into BOTH sound cards mic inputs simultaneously.

This has worked perfectly for me, and gives you better adjustment of levels between the in game VoIP and Teamspeak.

Until Creative learn how to write drivers, this will be your best option.
