Rank progression is no longer limited to the enlisted ranks. All officer ranks are now available.

Got that from battlefield2.com and that's cool, but I wonder how they will change it.

Quite true. 5-star Navy is a Fleet Admiral, 5-star Army is General of the Army, not sure what the wing-wiper is called. Also, the US Army had one 6-star general during WW1; his rank was called General of the Armies.

I am not 100% sure but I think you are wrong. The only 6 star general was George Washington. That was a couple years before WW1.

Edit: I stand corrected. George Washington was one but John Pershing was the other in 1919.

I think it perfectly normal the more you play, the higher your rank is, simple as that , in real life some dumbass 60 year old general can also be less competent then some 30 year old sergeant, in real life the manager of the company is a 50 year old guy who is maybe much less competent then the 30 year old co worker , that is life man

John Pershing and George Washington are the only two generals promoted to General of the Armies. However, Pershing only had four stars when in that position. There is debate as to whether the six star rank even exists. Yet another item for Congress to decide.

look , I said, these are situation, not always like that , but in real life it is a lot like this, many people get promoted on age not one qualifications, simple as that, and experience won't always help you because he world changes pal .

once you are going to have more expierence with buisines life you will notice it's not always the bst man on the top, and they get there because of time in duty

In the business world a lot of promotions are about who you know.

Your comment about the General ranks is false. One does not get promoted to General just because he has been in the service for X amount of years. The leaders of our military have to prove themselves as effective leaders first. Yes, generally older people will get these ranks because they have been proving themselves for 30+ years!

In real life.... you do not need medals or badges to go up the ranks. It requires seniority an aptitude, not medals.

The most senior officers have more medals simply because they were involved in more conflicts during their stay in the military.

I don't care about the badges... I just don't want to get porked when I would become first sgt. becuase I don't have that pesky knife badge!

Omar Bradley (20 Sep 1950)

There are no longer any surviving Generals of the Army or Fleet Admirals (the last to die was Omar Bradley). The Army recipients were George C. Marshall, Douglas MacArthur, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Henry H. Arnold (re-designated General of the Air Force on May 7, 1949) and Omar N. Bradley. The Navy recipients were Chester W. Nimitz, William D. Leahy, Ernest J. King and William F. Halsey

Note:
The grade of General of the Armies of the United States is associated with two officers in our history, George Washington and John J. Pershing, although only General Pershing actually held it

General Pershing at no time wore more than four stars.
