We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
There is no point to support in this stupid game unless DICE understand that if you run at a support guy in the open you should get owned very quickly. The accuracy on these guns is crap in real life they are way more accurate when just squeezing the trigger. Most support guns have an accurate effective range of up to 2km! Yet in BF2 30+ metres is too much for them to handle. Overheating 2 is bs, a real support gun could fires a few thousand rounds before it even gets near overheating.
Oh, please. A group of 100 snipers may do the suppressing fire at 2km. Have you ever fired an automatic gun IRL? Please add a reference link
they aren't bad, but you must admit, when running around with the PKM, and you spot an enemy on medium/far distance, you can't hit hit him even it was a 500 pond fatso
The problem with LMG's are that if they up the accuracy, it also make a more deadly weapon in short ranges, and would be used for assault instead of covering medium range fire.
They could counter it via mountable LMG's, which would make supply players very happy, but that's too much work for a patch i guess.
Um you dont know what your talking about. A sargeant told me this face to face when i was in the reserves
I know that a good sniper rifle/sniper can hit targets under good conditions at 2km. How can full auto be that good (or at least almost)? Here I used my brain and found that a LMG is far from that good. A special mounted gun maybe, but no LMG.
I don't blame you. In the military you are told not to question things.
It's about damn time that the Support weapons are made dangerous enough so that people actually start running AWAY from a deployed MG, not bunny-hopping towards one.
Give me a break Dude! If I can jump acouple times to avoid your poor aim and get my DAO-12 in range your done, no if or and about it. If you want to just ly there and take it like a girl, all the better for me. It only makes sense to jump around a person in the prone postion . So tired of hearing about bunny hoppers, it's not that big a deal, it's the Dolphin Diving that is the problem. Sorry for off topic, but I had to straighten this guy out :p
As for Support Kit, I don't use it that much, but yes I am eagerly awaiting the new patch like the rest of you.

Settle down Tobacco. Nihilist was making the point that the guns should be so effective that no one would try charging an established gunner. In the past, the guns held no fear for players who were proficient at hopping/diving, now perhaps they might try flanking instead. He was not saying that hopping is not a valid technique for dodging fire.
Working guns (prone and still) should defeat any direct approach - no one but a sniper at v long range should be able to try out-shooting a support trooper who is set.
For everyone's information, the effective range of the SAW is definitely less than 1000m. I would estimate around 600-800m effective when suppressing an area as opposed to a point target.
Also, overheating is very much an issue IRL, there is no way you could fire thousands of rounds on full auto unless your gun is water cooled, and even then you would need a good exchanger. I think M60 barrels were supposed to be swapped out at around 200 rounds IIRC.
Ok clear things up, a regular sniper rifle has a EFFECTIVE range of 1km (M24), a SAW has a 500m EFFECTIVE range. Yes, u can shoot at targets farther away, but then u must have good weather conditions, as well as luck on ur side. THe record for teh farthest kill with an infantary small arm s 2+km with the M99 BIG SHOT Barret .50 cal sniper rifle. I wouldn't expect to be getting 2km+ kills with all barret fifties. Anyways, a support gun, effective a 2000m, lol, that's impossible, with iron sights, u couldn't even SEE 2000 meters if it was the clearest day eever. U need like a 10x scope to do that. Clear more things up, snipers don't provide suppresive fire, cause at 2000km away, it's technically less of SUPRRESING fire, and more of just PICKING OFF targets. To do surpressing fire, u would ned like at least 50 snipers, and 50 snipers don't all aim at the same target, and 50 snipers don't all snipe together, sniper units are usually 2 person teams, in various areas, they have a spotter, and the shooter himself. I never see 50 snipers clumped together.
making those guns more acurate would be really good..I play mostly as support..
sometimes I change depending on what my squad needs most.
Same for me, i prefer to use support, but if my squad already has 2 support guys, and no medics, then i become medic. In squads, i usually steer away from teh outright killing classes (assault, spec ops, sniper).
I play pretty much only support, and I have no problem with these fixes. Sure it will take longer to prone, but I get the jump on the enemy most of the time anyways so it doesnt really matter to me. And this will just make me more of a threat at a fair dist. As it stands now i can already take out ppl at a good 80-90yds on wake with the SAW(which i prefer over every thing)But it is still hard. You just got to know your hit pattern. I say bring on the changes!!!
