We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Okay, a couple of weeks ago, I did that Punkbuster optimization trick so many people around here suggest:
pb_sleep 500
pb_writecfg
Since that time, not very often but often enough to be annoying, I get kicked from servers with a PB error message stating to revert back to unmodified content (blah, blah).
What's the original (default) sleep value so I can set it back? Anyone know?
Well, like I said, it doesn't happen often: maybe once or twice a day.
I've been playing nearly daily (yeah, I'm a nut) since June, and never had I been kicked with a PB "modified content" error, but the day I changed the sleep interval a couple of weeks ago, it started happening--and again, daily now.
Coincidence? Perhaps, but I doubt it. I'll change it back and see what happens.
Thanks for the replies. (I just wish I knew for sure if it is 60 or 20. :p)
As a side note, though, all these values seem unrealistically low. Say, for instance, you have a ping of 120 ms to a server--not a bad ping in and of itself. If PB queries the server every 20 ms, then it would have to make six queries before it got its response to the first one. It makes no sense that PB would require such an impossible query rate. <shrug>
(And yeah, I know the ping to the game server has nothing to do with the ping to the PB server, but I seriously doubt PB servers fair as well since every player on the planet is continuously making TCP/IP transcations with them, not just the 64 on the game server.)
The default value cited in that configuration file got updated from 60 to 250 in the second to last PB update. I guess they finally realized the error of their ways. :p
