Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I look at players stats and it says the most played kit is a medic and stuff....apart from healing people, whats so good at about them?
I do it for the passion of being a medic, which I can hardly vouch for most of the others. Medic is probably the easiest way to rack up points aside from vehicle/c4/noobtoob whoring. Which is too bad, really..

Healing people, basically. It does rack up lots of points, but I odn't really base my kit choice on that. I could go into a real detailed tactical analysis why, but I don't want to give away my strategies to you (muhahahahaha!).
Unfortunatly, I can't have much sympathy for you. You are going through the growing pains of BF2. You're paying your "n00b tax" right now. Once you've been cannon fodder for long enough (payed all your n00b dues) you will be a good player and be able to charge others their "n00b tax". Just remember you are much less experienced than everyone else and shouldn't hold yourself to high standards as a player, or, if kindness and generiosity is in your nature, that it is people like you who make this game fun for the more experienced players :p.
Starting off as a medic isn't such a bad idea. You get a decent rifle, some grenades, medpacks (to heal yourself from bumps, bruises, and bullets, or others, if you feel like being nice), and the defib paddles. Plus, rez'ing fallen teammates will make you a popular person (and your hair glow, and your teeth shine, and small animals and kids will flock to your side).
I recommend jumping into a squad, and just follow the leader. If you die, you can respawn on him. He's the green spawn point. (But, if the Squad Leader is dead or in a full vehicle, you wont be able to spawn on him.)
I played assault to start with (and still prefer that kit to be honest). I played Medic later when I understood the game mechanics a little better. Assault offered me some protection with light armour and the M16/AK 101/AK 47 are good weapons to learn shooting with IMHO.
You'll find your more accurate prone firing single or burst shots for medium to long range killing. Close encounters - don't go prone unless if you're sure you have the drop on someone and they are alone. Try not to go full auot on someone, you'll mostly miss them. Fire in bursts and keep moving at all times (strafing or jumping if that is your thing).

Well because you can make points easy and heal your self after a close encounter and the kit is balanced ok i.e. a decent rifle frags first aid packs.
Also it is not frowned upon like noob tubing.
It is the kit you will be able to last the longest to learn the maps and tactics.
But you are not limted to medic I suggested any role that you like except leave the armor or aircraft because for those you need skills you would not have yet.
Sniper is not a very good kit to learn with... no armour + unwieldy weapons = certain doom for newbies.
Of course, if you've played a lot of FPS like UT2K4 or DoD... MOHAA or basicly any other, this game should come second nature to you. I never really had a problem with this game being hard or such nonsense (although I learnt to hate the sniper kit with a vengeance).
If all else fails, play as engineer and hop into a tank. Everyone will bitch at the noob getting blown up all the time, but hey, its something thats happened to everyone, right?
oh and uhhh, avoid learning to play on the following maps: Karkand, Sharqi, Clean sweep, and especially kubra dam. Basicly, avoid all MEC maps. The chinese theatre is much better for learning.
Hop onto the the Raging rebels server, they have some strict rules, which are all available at http://www.r2clan.com. These people are always willing to help out the noobs, and there are more squads that work together then normal. There are a bunch of really great players on there, so it might be a little hard, but you will find someone willing to show you the ropes there.
I started playing as a Medic just so I can heal myself and have a decent rifle.
I agree here, sniper in this game takes a LOT of skill, especially compared to other FPS games. Try a spray and play class or healer and you'll have a lot more fun.
The best way to learn how to fly is to hop into a transport chopper and spam 'Get in! Get in!' until each and every position is filled. It doesn't matter if you're new and have never flown before, it's incredibly important to make sure that your chopper is full of passengers mainly because:
1) You weren't thinking of taking it alone, were you? Don't waste assets, it's called a transport chopper for a reason.
2) The extra passengers usually know what they're doing and they can offer you tons of useful advice.
3) The machine gunners, especially on the MEC/PLA transport choppers will obliterate everything in your path and protect you from certain doom.
4) If you're about to crash, just bail out. Someone will either take over the controls or they will all decide/know when to bail out too. No sweat.
5) If the chopper is not absolutely full, the weight distribution will be uneven and even the best aces of bf2 have a tough time dealing with this.
PM me if you need more tips. Oh yeah, and don't put metal in the microwave!!

LOL and then some. Blinding. Would it be too long for a sig?
Then again "n00b tax" was also hilarious.
Dont worry about using tanks..if people moan, then that should make you try harder next time. And take jets/choppers if they are not in demand. If its gonna sit there to rot, then you killing yourself it in wont be... upsetting.
Start single player and be familar with the maps. That is the key is knowing the maps and where the goodies are at. It saves time from looking at your hud when you are trying to find a point.
