My 9800 card died too. Sent it for two rma's but the first time they sent it back it didn't post anything on screen. Second time they sent it back it displayed more artifacts than an Indiana Jones movie. Gave up trying after that as postage was costing too much. So i went back to nVidia and a 6800gt (170GBP). I think we are getting royaly shafted for the price we pay for electronic goods here in the uk BTW.

As for un-supported graphics cards. I think they gave recommendations to which cards will give the game best appearance and GFX card companies more money. Saying that though playing 800x600 will be like playing on teletext won't it?

i use a 6600gt agp card, and i can run bf2 great. But with SF, i get fps problems, so then i have to play it on low. I may as well ask, any thing i can do to fix it?, ive tried most of the basic stuff, like changing 0 to 1 in various things, lol...

thanks, i can run bf1942 on full specs with zero lag so i can probably handle bf2 on medium settings.

            Re: Graphics card rumors

            I've got:

            AMD Athlon XP 2000+
            5500GT 256mb
            512mb ram in total.

Pretty much all under the supported specs, the 5500 isn't on the list.

Not that bad actually. I was forced to play with MIN graphics myself, and it isnt that bad. The minigun on the BHAWK looks like an edged pole or something. And lag. Well, lag seems to be more of a RAM and CPU issue than the video cards one. At least, when upgraded from 512 to 1 gig, lag problem were significally reduced, he still had a 64MB card and a 1.5 GHz processor (on a laptop).

I use a n6200 128 agp, all setting on low, no AA...and overclocked from 350/500 to 375/550 runs fairly well.

...on a side note if any of the others using a 6200 could give me a benchmark it would be greatly appreciated.Best I have faired is 2600 on 3dmark03

I can play BF2 on all low and 640x480 with a geforce 5200fx and still get around 30fps! Lags like no other on mulitplayer though...

running bf2 at unbelievably 50 fps

my entire tower cost less than 400$ i'm beginning to wonder if the deal really gave me the parts i asked for

Not one a load balance, to busy shooting things...
The game still has issues. I dont think a machine exists that you wont meet slow down at some point, whether or not you'll admit it- but i think any slowdown is server side.

Forget aa and vsync, thats not for consumers at the end of the day, itll eat the hearts outta your graphics card for no visual benefit.
