Just to throw my 2 cents in, i actually like the idea! I was a little bit put off by SF because even though it looked like fun, my friends said it sucked resources worse than the original so with my non beefy machine i thought i'd leave alone but with these booster packs i think i will give them a go.
I also like the choice this gives you... if you want armourwhoring, buy Armoured Fury. If you want some euro force fun then get the other one or buy both even!
At the end of the day they have given us the choice to buy or not to buy and that is your right as a free person to make that choice.
As for the level of content, and i am sure someone can correct me on this, but from what i have seen we're looking at 3 new planes, a new helo, 2 new tanks, 3-4 new guns, 2-3 mods on existing guns, a new army with all related skins and 6 new maps... as well as some bug fixes etc to the engine. Now i might just be a quaint english person but that doesn't sound like a bad deal...
Sure some developers will give that amount of content away but name me 3... I played CSS for about a year and in that time Valve managed one new map and a few new skins... sure it was free but come on, not really on the same level is it...
Also, i'm sure you will all have read about developers warning about the cost of making next gen console title and how prohibative it is, well this will also apply to next gen PC games as well so they need to get good returns on the game to prove that it's viable as a BUSINESS PRODUCT so they can continue to support it and develop new content, new games etc etc...
Sure it's not the way things used to be but thats the way things are now unfortunately. Sure you can get mods that will add all these extras and more but if mod teams thought they could charge you £20 for all their content then i am sure some of them wouldn't mind the extra cash... Sure it sucks a bit but for a game you log so many hours on, why does everyone complain about having to dig into their pockets every once in a while, as mentioned before, be glad they don't run a subscription service for it!!!
