X800Pro AGP enable?

Hi,

I'm getting seriously poor frame rates, and it's getting tedious having a screenshot of a muzzle flash and subsequent 15 second wait, it says on the attached report that my AGP is disabled..... anyone know how to enable this?

Also anyone who can decipher the report and is willing suggest any improvements or glaring errors your advice is appreciated.

Ive done the spyware, switching off AV etc....

normaly you don't have to enable it, but just take a look into your BIOS , there womewhere you have the option ovre your AGP

Appears to be on in the bios x8, but when i run everest this appears?

Upgraded bios, AGP appears on as in its selected over pci, when using catalyst I get this message - Current Bus Setting AGP Off

Any ideas ?? Alien lingo to me.....

im gonna try.
in youre bios did you just look 4 agpx8 enabled? or did u also look for
inistial display 1st (can be on pci, if it is change it to agp.
also some mother boards need a agp driver(not bios update)<--means for when cpu is loaded.
most mother board agp drivers are on the disk,but i noticed this on a old board whilts installing the mother board drivers i given 3 tick boxes sound.agp,lan but when i clicked next it said it installed,but infackt it only insalled the sound(some silly bug)so i ended up doing it 3 times folloed with 3 resarts.not saying yours may be the same but check if agp is enable.

to check if u ave a agp diver do this.
right-click on my cpu go to properties,hardware,device manager.when in device manager click system devices and see if you have acelerated grafix port(agp)on mine it says sis acelerated grafix port<--my motherboard is sis this shows i have a agp driver.

with out a agp driver the card will not funcion proply and most likly running in pci mode as a defult.
hope this helps.if it doesnt ill have to think really hard to find it out.so plz try the things i suggested and good luck

Blade I think you maybe onto something here, I only reference to AGP is the following - 'VIA CPU to AGP controller', there is no AGP standalone reference only 'PCI Bus' and four 'PCI Standard host CPU bridge' entries, can you possibly expand your answer a little, where would I get a AGP driver for an ASUS K8V SE Delux other than the arseus website which is as helpful as a chocolate spanner, and doesn't seem to have anything related if indeed I need it?

hmm locating a driver can be a pain.

well i suggest to all when u get a new mb keep the drivers safer than anything else second most important thing cus windows is 1st.
if u have youre mb drivers be sure to look on them for a agp driver,it the tiny things that make you pc go round and unfortunaly the most anouying.

i have experience with sevral cpu with no agp driver and they dont work as they should.

if you havent got drivers you will need the exact model/name ect of youre mboard to locate the driver.somw via do a 4 in one driver it will have the agp in there.
others li,like sis may have a single driver for the agp.
her is a somthing you can read to understand in better detail .

this one has a lot of drivers ob it locating wont be easy.

the best things is to look for youre brand and search on there web site.

The ASUS K8V SE Deluxe uses the VIA K8T800 chipset. Your chipset driver can be downloaded here:

So PLEASE .. download that VIA chipset driver and that should solve your problem.

i no u meant it m8 but i didnt think they did.thats why i said i didnt mean bios.
just incase it cuased confusion.i d like to think we both help on this prob :)

i know neither how to update my bios drivers or my chipset.

a tech savvy friend said dont change my bios if its working, because then it might not. same on the bios site (asus)

also, he has a super computer that cost 5000 dollars and runs the game on highest everything, xfi sound and full anti aliasing and resolution, and DOESNT have a 500 w power supply. its probly 450 or 400. just that sigs really annoying blade
