Wishful thinking, I'd like to see that too but the amount of static objects that they would have to add to any of those scenarios trumps the number of static objects they have in the entire game right now with the Special Forces exp pack. Not going to happen. Maps will probably only ever be based on fictitious places.

Except for Death Valley or maybe the alamo as that wouldn't require much for static objects. Those could work.

If a mod/map team took some time they could make 10 maps out of Cali alone.
1.Hollywood with a sign that could be blown up.
2.LAX international airport
3.Sea battle with a beach landing on Catalina island and the other 5 or so islands in the area.
4.Battle for the port in LongBeach/San Pedro which is really just LA's main Harbor along with the military base in Seal Beach.
5. Fort Brag + highway
6. San Francisco
7. Oakland +airport
8. Downtown LA featuring the skyline
9. Sea World at San Diego, frag shamu
10. Sacramento

But it would be really fun to have a battle at Area 51 and add some stupid funky **** for the USA.
But if its a US land mark it basicaly has to blow the **** up haha.

Sounds fun, but I think they should have put a bit more of a back story into it. Like having maps around strategic locations, oil Pipelines from alaska, Naval/Army/Airforce bases, a muntions depot, etc.

I think I'll start a "US Boarder Patrol" mod for BF2....

I "don't get" people who want to "close the borders". Being the libertarian that I am, I think the borders should be wide-****ing-open.

Dunno, I've always kinda wanted to play some map like that.
I'm very tired of the same old "USA raging through the world" scenarios in near e-v-e-r-y shooter, so I enjoy the "world raging through the USA" scenario for a change.

Hell yes. I never got around to buying Freedom Fighters, but I think I'm gonna have to go dig around on the net for it. (Buying it, not warez. Nobody has warez of 3 year old games .)

Though the prospect of fighting on home turf is an exciting one, I don't know if I'm gonna buy it yet. If it has a new set of unlocks, then yes, I'm definately buying it. If not, I'll have to read reviews and scrutinize the features. Same thing with Euroforce (some people say the new weapons won't be unlocks).

wow thats crazy, we're fighting in the US. who on earth is gonna be PLA in the first 3 weeks that is out? everyone is gonna 'defend the homeland'... yay for unbalanced gameplay. also, pennsylvania and plains don't go together, and how the **** did an opposing army end up there?

1. Show me proof that most Chinese players in this game spend all their time on the Chinese team. Other wise I have no idea what possible basis you have on this theory.

2. BF2 takes place in the near future, meaning that the opposing force could have built up its navy a bit.

Anyway, this is awesome! I hope they don't rip us off by making the levels nothing more than wide open areas with a few of those "generic locker and desk" buildings scattered about. Hopefully they will be indentifiably American.

Who said anything about closing boarders? Last time I checked, the boarders are open. I'm not aware of anyone being prevented from entering the country leagly.
