It is true, EA Games:

Battlefield 2: Armored Fury will add three new maps, all set in the rural heartland of America where the US forces defend their homeland from Chinese and MEC forces. This Booster Pack will also introduce two new vehicle classes: Attack Jets with the ability to use rocket pods and cluster bombs, and agile Scout Choppers which will reveal nearby enemies. "Midnight Sun" takes place on the Alaskan border, where Chinese forces make landfall. "Operation Harvest" will take the player to the vast open plains of Pennsylvania where only the expert use of air and armor will assure victory. "Operation Road Rage" sees all-out tank warfare on the freeways of America.

This could be cool, but there are no city maps... Maybe suburbs?

Anybody else remember when people were talking about the idea of an official map on US soil a few months ago?

I'll buy it if it comes with a new (full) set of unlocks, otherwise, I'll have to think about it.

Now that would be cool! It'd be like Dice City mod from BF:V except with tanks and stuff, but I'm starting to really look forward to this booster pack even though it's on U.S. soil.

There was a map they were testing on the EA online lab server (I don't know if you guys remember, you could see it through game-monitor) and they were testing a map called Burning Mesa with US vs MEC. Not only is this map name not mentioned, but the title of the map suggestes it was a southwest USA locale, and none of these maps take place in that setting. Any thoughts on what happened with this map? Maybe didn't pass testing?

PLA attacks West Coast, and MEC can attack East Coast?
Would be cool to see a pack that makes PLA and MEC vs USA in a 64vs64 US in a middle base with both forces attacking from both sides

Maybe, or could be additional content they'll just save to sell through another booster packs like they did in the past. Well if it is a southwest locale map, I want it! I love the southwest, I'm from New England but I think the southwest is the most beautiful region of the US.

Maybe the freeways in 'Road Rage' run through the southwest, be easier for them than making a city map.

dang..... if they would just make a Map that had Times Square in the center, with buildings to enter and Alleyways, a sewer, subway tunnels, and all types of connections between them, then we would have the coolest city map. It would be big enough to be almost exslusively fire fights with ground troops, building assualts. but still have the two major Roads Broadway and 7th ave for a few pieces of armor. Boy The Fun

wow thats crazy, we're fighting in the US. who on earth is gonna be PLA in the first 3 weeks that is out? everyone is gonna 'defend the homeland'... yay for unbalanced gameplay. also, pennsylvania and plains don't go together, and how the **** did an opposing army end up there?

USA is not my homeland, and probably isn't for most of the player base. No problem there.
