    Engineer repair points

I've had a samiliar poll on the official forums, and i was wondering what the folks on Total Bf2 community think of this.

At present situation, engineers don't get enough points for their repairs - these repairs are usually slow and risky, and increasing repair point gain to at least twice, seems to be globally agreed upon.

Repair cycle is the little bar at the bottom, it's not the vehicle/asset you're repairing.

Not much of a debate. Engineers are rare and valued, and this is a big pro for them..

I think that making it twice as quick is too much - perhaps decreasing it so 66% repair gives a point is better. Right now the veteran badge is nigh on impossible. A better situation would be to make the veteran hard to get and the expert nigh on impossible

Heh, you should see the repair thread on the official forums, where at least half the people think it should be tripled, not doubled

expert badge is 25 points, veteran is 10 points. since 10 points is agreed to be close to impossible, even if repair points were doubled, getting 25 would still be close to impossible to get :)
with double points getting veteran will be as hard to get as veteran medic or veteran supply. (getting the basic badge in the current system wasn't easy at all, making it equivelent to veteran makes sense to me)

Engineer is indeed very risky sometimes. And it isnt very rewarding to fix something when there is a high risk. It just takes to long. And I dont understand why such a class have to have 10 kills (BF) and 11 kills in SF to get the basic badge. When a class as assault only needs 5 in BF and 6 in SF to get the basic badge. But despit this i still like to play like Engineer. I love to place mines  and the Jackhammer, i dont know what to think of the MP-7 havent played with that gun very much.......

              Fundamentals of being an engineer:

You will work harder, hump more gear, and put in longer hours than anyone else on the battle field.

If anything goes wrong, it's your fault.

You will be expected to put your life on the line just as much as anyone else.

The grunts will call you a pansy.

You will not earn the same level of award or respect as some monkey that mans and pulls the trigger the of equipment you deployed .

This is inspired by the e-ramblings of a buddy of mine. Canadian Engineer corps. Afganistan.

And yeah, he thinks the engies in BF2 get ripped off too.

As a player who has just passed the 200+ hour mark playing as Engineer although I agree it does take along time to get a repair point, I personally am not bothered by this fact.

I am a player that doesn't worry about the points/badges/medals and so forth. My satisfaction playing the engineer kit comes from being sneaky laying down my mines only to see a short time later that I claimed an AT Mine victim. I also get satisfaction that comes from repairing a strangers vehicle and to recieve the rare but greatly appreciated Thank You after they realise that I fixed 'em up and lastly, when I can mow down the enemy with the Jackhammer in that in your face type of combat.

It does need to be incresed that's for sure. I work my ass off being a good teamplayer, repairing other guys tanks, the commander assets, and so on, just like all of you I am sure, I expect more for it!

Not sure if a point @ 50% of the cycle is too much, or too little. I guess we'd only find out if DICE will change it.

Either option #1 or they repair twice as fast.

Nice to see support on this simple suggestion, hopefully more people vote so there's a wider representation of this community.

Veteran is not impossible, it just requires that you have a very persistant enemy determined to destroy assets. I got mine because a plane kept bombing the UAV and I kept repairing it. It is also possible if you have a squad of SF that keeps blowing stuff up. I hate spec ops, but we need them for those points. The repair points do seem like a rip if you use your wrench, just use a vehicle to carry out repairs, it seems to repair quicker and is not as tedious. Use your outside view when driving.

Play in an armor squad, the veteran is no problem really.
