I'm in the Coast Guard stationed in Guam, and things don't always arrive here on time. I couldn't find SF here until a little over a week after it was released in the States. I just figured I'd d/l it so I could have it the day it came out, but EA states that SF was unavailable for download in my "country"?!?! Kinda weird considering Guam is a U.S. territory. So needless to say I had to wait a while before I got SF. My real question now is, if I want these booster packs, how am I ever gonna get them???EA needs to think about revamping their downloader service if they're not going to offer these booster packs in stores.

The countries that SF wasn't available in were countries that the major CC companies didn't have agreements with for Internet purchases AFAIK.

AFAIK? Well if my CC's don't have an agreement for Guam, is there a way I can work around this problem. Would one of those prepaid credit cards work? Do I have to ask a relative in the U.S. to borrow their CC number and pay'em back for it? I don't know what EA expects me and people in my situation to do if they're not gonna offer their products in stores and won't allow you to download them either. pretty lame customer service IMO

I've been screwed via buying something over the net.
I can't see me bothering with a booster if there isn't a retail way to purchase it. I like a recipt in my hand... not in my e-mail.

same here, theres nothing like actually holding a purchase in your hands and having a recipt, if ALL PC games are to take this route of "only available online" in the future years, i'll buy a console.

The trouble is that they are selling what should be made available through natural community support. It reminds me too much of Wizards of the Coast "Magis: The gathering" card game. If you wanted to keep up to par with other players you had to buy boosters and boosters and boosters and expanded sets otherwise your crappy "vanilla" magic cards wouldn't stand to a player's deck full of those powerfull and nice special cards.

Look at the effect of players using SF weapon in vanilla BF2 !!!!!!! And in a way I'm one of them (I play Medic/SpecOps using the G36 and Support with the MG36, or Assault with the F2000N). And who here didn't wonder what the hell happened when a BF/SF players throw a Flashbang at you ?

I'm afraid the same thing will happen with those booster packs.

Apart from this, I'm not afraid to buy online. If I buy it online, I make due backup of all email / certificates / download links / user & passwords required in case of a major hardware crash (and as an IT Admin in a software company I can assure you I saw a truckload of such mishaps)

I don't like the feeling of being a cow milked by EA this way.

No replies? You guys this is not at all fair for people w/o online purchsing capabilites, will EA fix this by combining both booster packs into a boxed expansion pack? come on!

i dont think its that bad i mean if you need to reinstall it its just in your ea downloader no cd no waiting you can pre download and have it right when it comes out so i dont see what the problem is

As harsh as it sounds, you just need to catch up to the times I guess. Just like the folks who didn't/couldn't upgrade to DSL or cable internet, unfortunately, there's just some stuff you can't do. Sucks, but that's life.

Without a credit card, you're pretty much locked out of a lot of things in this world.

Like the guy said above, get creative - surely you know someone with a credit card that you could give the cash to OR, better yet, go buy a Visa gift card.
