the small bullet drop + the random deviation = the bullet drop doesn't matter.
bullet drops down but deviation throws it up and right and you still miss.

with the nade launcher its a tricky one u sort of need to get a feel for it.

If there at the right range then putting the very bottom of the sight thing in there heads will hit them exactly every time but if there closer or further away u have to compensate.

Here is the trick I use for the grenade launcher:

        - notice how the aiming marks are just a bunch of lines with different widths
        - to aim, use the line that is appoximately the same width as the enemy's shoulders

So for example if he's right in front of you you would use the top aiming mark. Actually you would not use your GL at all because you'll look like a n00b and I'd have to come stab you in the face, but I'm getting off topic..

If he's say 75m away, see which of those lines is aprox as wide as he is and use that to aim.

        Hope that helps.

SK explained bullet drop fairly well in his post. Also, as for random deviation, there will ALWAYS be a chance you will miss. Regardless of where you aim. But accounting for bullet drop allows you to center your target in that deviation cone, reducing the chances of a miss. Would you pass up an 80% chance to hit with the target in the center of the cone, or a 20% chance without accounting for bullet drop?

And as for the grenade launcher statement made by R0man, with the patch coming out you will no longer be able to shoot it at point blank, so use the advice as a guide, but in all honesty, just practice with it. The sights are not meant for precise aiming, but to give you a static guide to give you a constant to base off of. It also does fairly well in helping you to correct your next shot if it misses.
