I was lucky to buy both right on top of each other in November. so.. to me SF WAS BF2.. just no jets. when i want to fly.. its bf2.. when i want combat.. SF im also excited for every booster pack, map pack, patch, small addition EA comes out with and will fork over the $ (mostly cause i can)

            Re: SF opinion

It's not better, and here's why.

a)It looks exactly the same as BF2.... possibly worse in places, some of the models look a generation behind (f2000 texture for instance.)

b)It runs like CRAP. I consider BF2 to be a good engine in the grand scale of things. But SF? Runs horribly for me, we are talking 20fps instead of BF2's 60fps. I don't know what DICE canada did to mess up a perfectly good engine.

c)We are far from sick of vanilla BF2...we didn't need this yet....a lot of us are still exploring the depths of the original.

d)The maps are good, but in terms of streetfighting, I dont think any of them stand alongside Sharqi, Karkand or Mashtuur city. Yes, streetfighting dominant has proven to be the most intense for of BF2, so yes, this makes Special Forces streetfighting maps welcome.

Its SO much better than BF2. I mean, its faster, harder.. more action packed.

Yes it is a little laggy in places if your pc is average.
Yes it could do with a patch
Yes you can unlock the SF weapons in BF2 via a friend

              BUT

No, you dont have to drive 10minutes to get 1 kill
No, everyone isnt waiting on a helipad for the next chopper (well except iron gator)
No, there isnt anyone dropping bombs on anything that moves

If you like Karkland, you'll love SF.

I have to agree that SF doesnt look as pretty as BF2 but if you want to play a fast FPS'er then its gotta be SF... if you'd rather fly around admiring the scenery, go BF2.

              My opinion anyway
I took a open approach to buying Sf. I don't regret buying the xpac but I do regret a few things (*cough *cough night maps) ugh only thing I think I enjoy in SF besides the unlocks is the map Ghost Town. Meh. You know what? **** the xpac. Factions who arent SAS get ****ed. **** EA!!!!

The next patch doesn't even address a single well know bug. Which there are many!
EA is ruining the product with thier hasty proliferation of content that does nothing but to cloud the basic games flaws. SUCK THAT EA!

Holy Crap Maestro, I almost spit my pepsi all over the monitor after I read your EA bashing post & then looked at your stats. Pffffft ... For somebody who hates the game & talks down about the company who provided you with a game in which you've spent almost 600 hrs on. You're a joke!

Ohhhh... this thread had actually found some intelligent posters.

Why slag each other off, its like a war or words on this site. Leave the hostility for the guys with their names in red.

Whatever floats your boat is the answer I think, me.. I prefer fast paced combat action where you shoot one another... If people prefer "driving miss daisy" around in a jeep.. then so be it.

For all the guys who love SF, here's my ranked server IP

                  IP: 85.133.16.70
                  Port: 16567

                  ..and my wbby here.

Its full of like minded killers everynight.

Don't get me wrong. I do like the game. The bugs just get me a little ****ed now and then. Anyways what I really meant is that they should be fixing thier mistakes rather than possibly adding to the already long list of bugs.

Yeh, and it is usually the same kind that will complain about having to buy expansion packs... like they didn't get their money's worth with BF2 500 hrs ago!

And people don't understand coding... you can't have everyone at DICE Sweden & Canada working on fixing bugs!?!?
It would be a mess and unproductive... you need a pretty clause nitted little group to do this efficiently.

And really, personally I never had any bugs!!
This is why the future will be in consoles... so everyone has the same hardware!

Getting a game to work on every possible hardware combination is a huge pain!

                        Re: SF opinion

I agree with fixing the bugs, but dont you think certain things need to be adjusted also? And new content is always nice to have even if some bugs cant be fixed. Its not like they are all sitting there going, "Hey .. We Finally found the red tag bug problem, but .. Lets NOT put it in this next patch" If they could contain the bugs & fix them then I gaurantee they would release THAT fix immediately with out waiting to add extras to the patch.

The thing with coming out with a new patch each week or so that contain a few fixes or extras, is then EVERYBODY will be complaining about slow DL speeds or having to wait for their fav servers to update. BAH!

I completly agree with you. The game could use a patch but its still a great game. As for the booster packs im not gonna buy them just yet. They apear to be the same thing as Bf2 just different maps so ill wait till im bored of sf to buy them.

recently i just started playing SF after getting bored of BF2. The intense combat action simply blows me away. The only setback is it tends to get laggy at times, might be my notebook is not powerful enough. All in all it's a great game.

Dude, it lags on most setups, including my pc, which is a beast. Lets hope the patch fixes some of the stuff people rightly have concerns over. Until then, i'll see you on the battlefield... I'll be they guy sticking a knife in your back
