Ok, everyone is complaining about noobtoobn' (whats new?) and I think its time to clarify what makes a noobtoober.

Is it someone who only uses the GL when playing assault?
Is it someone who bunnyhops/dolphin dives while using the GL?
Is it someone who uses it at extreme close range?

I'd also like to add base-campers and the noobs who teamkill for vehicles cuz they can't stay alive on foot.

But seriously, should the assault class be using the GL at all? I think the assault class deserves the GL, but its easily abused and at close range it should either not explode or kill the launcher as well.

DICE stated that the Assault class has the GL for addressing vehicles. I'm not sure what they expected in implementing it as it is now, or how they'll fix it moving forward.

I think for self-defence against cars, or to kill people behind cover - generally the situations that call for a GRENADE to be launched - GLs are totally okay and I don't mind them at all.

I gotta say that if Dice just wanted to make the GL vs vehicles they should change the specs on the round to straight AP. As it is now I'm assuming it's an AP/DP round. I'd love to see them give us a few rounds of each. Nothing nicer then dropping a WP into an open window. or for those up close and personal adventure a nice flechette round. I'm all about options. :)

no, aside from the armored vest, the gl is the only other reason to use assault rather than medic. think about it, every class has something special to set them apart from other classes. the grenade launcher is the assaults "something speecial".

yes, bunnyhoping and dolphin diving is lame in general because the hitboxes move around very fast making it harder to hit then it should be

yes, using it too close is the main reason to classify an assault as a noobtuber. if the shot is close enough to damage the shooter then its too close. another thing that classifys an assault as a noobtuber is when they would rather reload the gl than busting out the rifle.

anyhow, dont think anything of people calling you that. it would be like calling someone a noob for using the scope on the sniper rifle. also remember that this is the same community that condems uncapturable camping/base rapeing but thinks its fine to do at a capturable flag. this is war guys! they didnt put assets and defencive weapons at bases for no reason. as long as someone isnt cheating, peddling, or asshating, its all legit. hell the only thing i got against kamikazi or using jets for transports is that it creates time that my team has one less jet in the air.

The other night on Warlord I was guarding the Insurgent Hideout flag and an entire SAS squad ran onto the flag area. I hit them with two GL rounds and killed them all -- they called me a noobtuber.

Of course it was 6 on 1 and what the heck was I supposed to use?

assault needs GL, what about the normal guys that use a GL when its needed? i would like you to say that again when there is a full hummvee coming to cap a flag and you are alone with your GL :) :p

Noobtube also refers to people who use the Eryx and stuff when they're like 2 feet away.
