Exactly! This addition opens up a few more things to be questioned.
Of course the MEC and chinese commanders can launch UAV scans, but see'ing an actual UAV flying on behalf of them would just be wrong.
Mabey the UAV thing should only be limited for the American side..
It should be but for a lot more other things, eg. Chinese army Ak's, I doubt it will be as a sort of "balance" feature. Either way from the video you can shoot it down and pref jets will do this. Just wondering though, where the hell will it appear from ? because if this is learnt, pilots will know where to look.
Either they have an alternative or they all get it, me thinks.
Well, would a UAV in real life be flying so high that troops on the ground couldn't see it?
At any rate, I DO like the idea. I like the idea of knowing that you're being UAV'd. That will do a few things:
-immerse you EVEN deeper into the game (be quiet and hide)
-let you know that because 'that guy knew where you were' doesn't mean he's hacking/cheating
-gives being the commander a bit more of that 'cool' factor
Agreed. But, a UAV flying that high also isn't going to see anything and everything, and be able to instantly relay it to everyone on your side. Even if the object is on the other side of mountains or buildings. :p I think the ability to see it and shoot it trades off that rather powerful sighting ability the thing has.
Double agree on the cheating factor. I think a lot of the "OMG YOU HACK!" comments are simply because of a UAV. While I don't like the UAV feature, or any other commander features, I think this is a good balance to the UAV, and will get rid of some of the people claiming people are hacking. (you'll always have morons though...and then again, you'll always have hackers too, so that can go either way :p )
Short of seeing the UAV, the best thing that could come from the new patch are videos of people trying to air surf on them.

Don't really like the idea of being able to shoot down the UAV, the second it goes up everything in the air and all the anti-tankers are going to take pot shots at it. I think it's enough that it can been seen.
