exactly my point i want squad play but not just running around like working as a squad. i think the idea of leader distance is awsome we should tell ea and mabye thy will release it in a new patch but i doubt it

Don't trust either servers nor chance.. When u find a good squad with an active leader or just run across a committed squad member for example, write down his name and track him down with BF2stats.com. Then ask him to join your squad.

I always play with my friend and 90% of the time we stick together really tight. When we find ppl that like to play the same way we do we just tend to memorize their name and ask them to join whenever they happen to be on the same server.

We always use squad play on our server Raging Rebels Ranked 1.12 There are no shortage of squads to join and you will find most if not all using VOIP and working together as a team.

We usually have some of the most hard fought games you can come across. If you join an <<R2>> squad make sure you shout out to us because we are on TS. We will then use VOIP when someone else joins who isn't on our TS.

Squad play is probably the best feature of BF2 along with VOIP, its a shame a lot of people forget that and go playing by themselves as a lone wolf.

I'm sure you can find a squad on our server or create your own and others will join and get the teamwork you are looking for.

why is it that is almost damn near impossible to find a server where people use the best feature of the game: squads. i spend hours looking for a server where i can be commanded by a squad leader to "lay down covering fire", or to "take the rooftops" i really dont have much fun in the game when everyone is just meandeiring around and doing their own thing also it seams that no one ever talks to each other. if anyone knows of any good servers where squad play is actualy used plese let me know the ip i would love to join a squad and lay down that covering fire!

squad play is nice, lotsa clanners play in pubs together in one squad, but unfortunatly they usually use external voice proggie (ts/vent) so you don't get a piece of the action

Last night wOggie found us and ended playing for a while. Granted he has only had this game for a couple of days, he did well. He stuck with the squad and was willing to help out with what ever needed to be done.

I am sure some times he got bored of us defending a main base, but I tried to keep things interesting for him and the other's who joined our squad.

Normally I am not the squad leader, but my buddy (cwv_8t88) needs a few more hours in as a squad member to get a medal. Plus it's a nice change of pace for each of us. Ultimately we have the same basic philosophy of how to manage a squad, I am just a bit more dynamic then him. Assuming he likes the way we run a squad, he more than welcome to join us any time.

We only use TS to coordinate what server we are going into or the rare occasion we stay in a server that doesn't have VOIP working properly. I still don't understand why they would use these programs in the game. The feature of lowering the game volume while some one is talking is invaluable. If your in a tank and some one talks to you using TS/Ventrillo, your response is normally "What did you say? I am in a tank." :p
