My 5 year old daughter plays!

I had mentioned before that my 5 yr old daughter plays the game. now I am going to provide a story and a link to her stats. (first of all.. a little background.. she has been playing CS and Unreal since she was 3.. so although she is getting used to BF2..soon she will pwn.)

so the other day.. she was on Wake. Poor little thing just felt like flying a plane.. she runs up to one and WHAMMO someone tk's her for it. she yelled "DADDY THE GOOD GUYS JUST SHOT ME" i said.. just click forgive honey and move on.. she was like.. "they keep shooting me" then she snapped and started shooting back. pwning her team (also made of pfc's and pvts) i stopped her right around when i saw the kick votes coming and convinced her to just go cap flags... then the map changed.

so i sit in.. said.. honey.. let me play a round.

pwnd the entire next map and everyone on it. gold medal. (her first)

she played from then on and no one said a word and everyone got out of her way.

Not really. Video games improve hand/eye coordination and develop problem-solving skills that could really help a young mind to florish. As long as he also teaches his daughter that going around shooting people is, in general, a very rude thing to do, it's probably not a bad thing.

Now of course, if she's playing the game for ten hours a day or something then that isn't so good. :laugh: But careful monitoring and guidance while she's playing probably isn't harmful..

In the UK bf2 is rated 16+. Don't know about your from though.

Yes, because every human being is so stupid that they think that they think a playtime representation of something is the same as a real thing. Give me a break. What next, after playing "school" with her friends she'll think has an educational degree? If humans were that stupid, we wouldn't be able to walk or talk.

The only way he's a bad parent is by telling his daughter to forgive someone who tked her for a jet.

EDIT: And yes, I hope if she's in highschool and one of her fellow class mates shoots her, she shoots back. But funny you only apply the second part to reality (meaning getting shot in a digital universe is just someone else annoying you while shooting someone in a digital universe is shooting someone in real life). I love how people say video games encourage people to be murders but never the heroic soldiers who save the world from destruction you actually play as (most times).

get off your high horse man, where do you get off saying to anyone they are a bad parent. how do you know he is a bad parent? by letting his child play a video game?. because it says "16+" on the box (well lord of the rings etc is a 12 i believe yet all the marketing and merchandise is produced for a younger audience so by your definition they are bad parents for buying the merchandise and taking their kids to see the movie (try living in the real world instead of some candy coated dreamland).

lol, i remember when i lived on base, my dad brought his laptop over and i played Doom 1, when i was 5-6ish. Aww good times.

Wont comment on the 5yr old playing... as I guess he can do with her as he wants.

I will comment on the games will drive kids to shoot up schools etc... Because you all know we go around chsing little ghosts and eating an endless supply of yellow dots after playing years of pacman.

my 5 year old daughter plays too - she loves karkand and wake.
We are certainly not bad parents and she sees it for what it is - just a game.
