Smoke Grenades

I'd just like to know everyone's opinion on them as I find them very valuable in-game especially when I have to cross streets in heavy firefight or say a field with snipers onlooking.
I just wish I could stock on more when I go to get more ammo, although I realise if you could then alot of the battlefields would be very smokey indeed.

I don't see them getting used that often to be honest and I think they're more important than people realise.

Obviously you have to think of the downsides to it but would you want to be able to resupply on them from an ammo crate or support guy?
Do you even use your smoke grenades much?

I'd like to know your thoughts:)

i tend to use the smoke greandes when im assault class, i think they *should* have more though

I never really use the kit smokes but I use the smokers on tanks/APCs if I'm in trouble and have to get out quickly or if I'm supported infantry I can move up, pop smoke, retreat, then have the infantry move in to take the flag.

Good luck using smoke grenades on any other class than assault, Coderedpl. :p They are the only guys with them-and they only get one.

They certainly can be useful, although when you look at them along side CoD2's smokes they're rubbish! The ones in BF2 hardly last any time at all, and since you only get one...it's often hard to find a good use.

Fair enough. I'm only gently poking fun, no offense meant.

I think smokes have been outclassed by flashbangs, alas-being able to blind vehicle drivers, as well as getting a fistful of them, means people love them more!

smoke grenade is good then you injure and need to escape to imrove your health
also is good to defend your vehicles

I like using smoke grenades as a sort of diversion when I am about to approach a heavily contested area. I usually throw them in the direction I WON'T be coming from, then approach from the other direction. Consequently, the enemy sometimes gets nervous and starts shifting positions or chucking grenades into the smoke. This gives them away and allows me to pick them off pretty easily.

I think the assault class underslung grenade launcher should launch smoke grens instead of explosives. That would be quite fun in my opinion.

That would be cool-or what about an extra laucher for smoke grenades, like the support class has for tear gas in SF?

3 Smoke to launch and 3 Frag to launch would be very nice and a forced load on use would be even better so no poping on to that GL for that near auto kill vs a crap weapon.

i rarely see anyone use smoke grenades, and wish they would more often. I would go as assualt class more often, but usually I am the one that has to deal with the tank or...something like that...since most people don't know how to take on vehicles like that very well.

smoke is very handy (look at cs :)) you should have 2 smoke grenades imo

I love smoke grenades and I use them whenever I can. My biggest beef is that assault only gets 1 - I'd like 3-4.
