so you need to shoot half heat cannon and then let it to cool down and shoot second time till is dead

Yup. The .50 cals guns cool off really quickly unless you drive them to full overheat. A 1-2 second pause will give you the extra edge to ice a helicopter.

The other key to good .50 cal usage is LOCATION. One of these days I'll post a guide to all of my best spots.
