Different Languages in BF2

When you play as MEC or China, whenever you use voice commands, commander says something, etc, its in arabic/chinese. Does anybody else, like me think this is pointless? I actually read somewhere that dice actually struggled to find someone to speak in arabic for them .. :/
When you are in the game, you don't want to hear a load of stuff you dont understand, and its as simple as that. How many people are there that are players of BF2 and can understand Arabic/Chinese?? My bet is not a lot.
Like I said, I think its a really stupid idea. I dont want to have to look around my screen to see what teamates are telling me, I can normally simply hear them.
TBH, I wouldn't mind if the makers simply wiped over the MEC/China voices with the American guy talking. Easily done, and IMO to the advantage of the majority of players :)

Look in the options menu.
Under audio you can choise english voiceovers only...

May want to check that before posting.

Eh, pointless, but I absolutely love the foreign voiceovers. I don't know Chinese or Arabic but it adds a really nice touch to playing on the opposing team. For that reason I always play as the axis side, never usmc or sas.

Not totally pointless. It saves me having to start a new thread. :)

I turned english only voices on after playing for less than 1 hour.
Reason is i dont want to have to take my eyes of the action to find out what someone said.
EA/Dice should have done them in English but with accents, so you can tell when you hear an enemy close to you.
Probably accounts for my 109 Deaths by Defibrillator.
As it is I usually have no idea and hearing an enemy accent would help a lot.
I realise that they should also do them in other languages for people that do not speak english as their first language.

i turned off the foreign voices after playing for an hour or 2 when i became really confused on what was going on.

i dont see how its really much of a struggle to find someone to speak arabic for dice, there are plenty of arabs out there. :|:

i think it was a good idea tho, and even better idea to have the option of turning it on and off. i wish most games had native voice overs, play games like the Dead or Alive series, and everyone speaks Japanese, despite the character being from France or the US. one game that really bugs me is the Fatal Frame series, not many peopel out there play it, but i totally love it. The games are set in japan, have japanese characters, japanese themes, yet its all in english....atleast have the option for japanese voice over.

I use the foreign voiceovers, because:
-This way I can distinguish whether a friendly or a hostile grenade is being thrown next to me (just memorize the GRENADE! yells in 3 languages, not so hard)
-This way I can distinguish from the radio chatter when enemies come in. I love to play using my ears, and when some guy runs around blabbing to his commander for support, shouting about ENEMY XY SPOTTED or "I NEED BACKUP", it will tell me where he is AND in the latter case I know he's mostly alone.
Different languages make a huge amount of sense to me, I'm afraid.
That, and the chinese voiceovers are one of the funniest things ever.

I have most of the important foreign voiceovers memorized. Always helpful on Karkand when you hear "Umbula!" or "Grenade!" being yelled so you know to get the heck out of there, and then come back after the boom if it was an enemy.

Just like Sir. Elxx saida bove, it would be:

"Umbula" - Grenade!
ect - ect

actually even chinese dont understand the chinese language they speak in BF2, i guess its the same to the arabic. but i still prefer to hear them cuz when some enemies are behind the wall nearby or something, u can hear them talk in the language that differs from yours, which easily tells you where they are.

i usually have english VO turn off, it makes it me feel more immersed into the game, i tried it using english voices only, and if ur in a CQC situation, and a teamate and an opposition both throw grenades you hear grenade from both people so you dont know from where or who threw it so, have english VO turned off, can help it this way too
