    BF2 Official Positivity Thread

Well as you all know BF2 is soiled with numerous bugs and errors which hopefully will be sorted or at least improved by the release of 1.2

So rather than hear of bunch of whiners and moaners i would like to hear why you like BF2 so much, why you put so many hours into it and why you put up with it.

    I'll get the ball rolling.

I think the idea of getting medals/badges/ ribbons etc is awesome. I really get a sense of achievement when i earn them. Also I think its better when you get one that you haven't purposely been working towards.

Although not the most realistic of things, but bombing around in a plane with my flight stick is awesome. Whether it be bombing a column of armour at the start of a game or chasing the opposing aircraft without them knowing because i turn my Air to Air missles off and just strafe them with the cannons.

So there you have it lets hear your views.

I enjoy the feeling of being somewhere in the Middle East, weapon in hand, and laughing it up with a dozen friends on Ventrilo / TeamSpeak - Not sitting at home worrying about paying bills or thinking about work or a hundred other sources of stress. This game gets you out of your own skin and puts you in someone else's shoes - even if only for a few hours a night.

I enjoy the squads, as it allows me to team up with friends and work togther to accomplish the mission (whether that be take the enemy base, blow up their assets, or just generally harass the enemy :p) I just enjoy the feel of the game really, since there are not that many like it.

as said before, the teamwork aspect is the best part. it is exciting and rewarding to acheive different tasks while in a squad working together.

With friends on Vent or Teamspeak, it's one of the most fun games I have played, period. Fun is the most important factor, and this game is hella fun! :)

Basically i realy like having the odds stacked realy high against me and coming out on top. Just the other day i was in an apc and i came up against an apc a tank and a couple of ground pounders all at once and i still managed to kill them all. It's such a great buzz when somthing mad like that happens your certain your going to die and yet some how survive and all thats left around you is wreckage of vehicals and the broken bodies of the enemy crying out for a medic .

Agree with above. I especially like working together with people to ge the job done. Another nice aspect is the variety of things that you can learn to get better overall. I like to play as all the classes and throw in some piloting and commanding as well. Fun!

I think this is one of the most dynamic and exciting games ever produced. I know folks can nitpick this item or that, but taken as a complete package, both BF2 and BF:SF is the most fun I've ever had playing an online game.

Since BF42 and now with BF2, I've bought several other good games and always end up back with the Battlefield series.

i love the fact that (besides Quake IV) this was the only PC game purchase i needed to make in 2005. it has held my interest for far longer than i had ever imagined and everytime i play, the game is somehow different. this is what i don't understand about people who stat pad. why would they want to repeat the same mundane task over and over again just for some ranks, ribbons, unlocks, whatever?

there's just so much to do in the game. trying to capture (or defend) a flag by yourself while ground pounding is such an adrenaline rush. take out a couple foot soldiers, climb into a TOW to take out enemy armor, and then hitch a ride to the next flag with a low flying blackhawk. the sigh that i breath after coming out on top from such an engagement just can't be beat.

Having a fun time with people I know.
Listening to the totally messed up voices that sometimes haunt the ingame VOIP.
Hearing other bitch and whine about my chopper whoring. It's the icing on the cake of a round of slaughter.
Enjoying look and feel, I sometimes just camp in the middle of different places to listen to the (bloody well done) ambience sounds.
I also like to goof off sometimes, sneak into the enemy base, park the planes in ****ed-up positions in the hangars and get to a safe spot, then watch the enemy pilots run to their jets and wonder WTF (I love it when you can 'tell' from their movements what they're thinking).

Actually about all the things above. Most computer games get me bored pretty soon. The diversity of the game is what gets me. There is something in it for every player. Infantry, planes, choppers, you can do it all.

Also some games make it too damn hard to play online with other player making you install god knows what. With this game its install, create an account and fire away.

I like defending bases with all sorts of little things that go: boom.

Another one is when your sniping with the m24. You track a target until he stops, then let rip a round into his head. Knowing he hasn't got a clue where on earth that piece of lead came from. Getting spawny kills with moving targets is quality too.
