If you have a commander that knows the proper use of the satelite scan and a spot, this "trick" will never work. If I am feeling particularly evil I will let him waste five minutes swimming across the bay and have an arty strike waiting for him on shore.
You are better off getting into a jeep and make the trip to the other flags via the inner beach. This works occaisionally.
In reality if you are down to your last flag as the Chinese team and it isn't the airfiield your team is probably screwed. You might as well spawn as a medic and throw health packs because the end is near.
