I'll tell you why I play this map. It's really quite simple. No planes/helo's. I am not a pilot and I can's even sit in a tank or APC on some maps without being blown sky high. Some large mechanized maps are fun if both teams have a fairly talented mix of pilots. On the other hand, fully half of the time I am on the losing side of a battle where I suffer death after death after death. I find that on the map in question I can usually hold my own. I like switching between several kits and all are supported on this map.

There are no points whores like jet points whores. Most times on karkand if you are playing with a fair number of people the armour doesn't last very long.

One other reason I play this lately has already been mentioned. There are servers that play this 24/7. This means no map loading which normally crashes my system. I get to play 5 or 6 times instead of one map then reboot. I'd love to play some other maps but they's need to either put restrictions on planes or fix the SAM sites so they actaully take out fighters.

On topic, i think it would be great if they made a map without tanks/apc/AA. But deleting the current vehicles on karkand seems too drastic, and its never going to happen no matter how much we want it.

Karkarand is a fictional place. why are you so concerned about how people spell it. It's not like they are screwing up on real geology or sompthin.

Anyway, most servers when rebooted, start on Strike at Karkand, the default maplist has it first, therefore people play it often. As a renter of a ranked server I know that the best way to start an empty server is to have it run Karkand.

People like it, I am not sure which map is second favorite, I actually enjoy Sharqi Penn. more.

But i didnt spend 13 years in grade school and 2 years so far in college to watch people mispell stuff like that left and right.

LOL!! This thread turned out to be more of a spelling contest more than anything. Note: Stay In School!! Note to the spelling checkers: If you correct someone dont be a **** about it.

Karkand is a great map but honestly for me I prefer maps with jets & helicopters (being the jet/helicopter whore that I am). Im all for ground battle dont get me wrong but I think flying is a skill that takes time to master. Once you have it down pretty good there is unlimited ways to rack up points. Good fun either way though, because at the end of the day thats all that counts.

i play Kirkland all the time because when the sun goes down and stars come out it's such a beautiful sight to behold. any astrologist would agree that the stars are spectacular in Kraknad.
