When I'm hit with bullets I never think that an AA is firing at me. I'm always thinking plane plane PLANE! But it is funny when sometimes an enemy ground units tiny bullets hit your plane.

Use the maingun for the most part, and do that in bombing mode. Once you get good at using your maingun, then start toying with the missiles. If you learn to be patient with the missiles and catch them making very abrupt changes that require completely opposite input of their controls, it is a good time to tag them with missiles.

When you shoot the maingun, don't mistake client side hits for real hits. If your comp thinks you hit them, it will show a little bullet impact animation. If you see that animation towards the back of their jet (assuming you are following him and he is turning in front of you), your probably registering false hits, your just going to have to trust me on this.

Your gonna get alot of bad advice mixed with some good advice on a message board, your just going to either have to sort it out, or go into a server and really try to absorb every situation you encounter and piece together what actually happened and if you can use it in the future or not.

There are a bunch of other things, but I don't feel like making a video right now, I just got done recently with these tank vids in my sigs, so I'm all vid'ed out right now.

Go behind him, Lock on, fire 2 missiles, turn lock off immediately(switch to bombing), he gets fooled, missles still go after him

Do what Sir Spunge said. I've recently started fly jets and now think i've got the hang of them (and only recently got the aviator ribbon). Even if you have a lock and the guy you're chasing is banking/turning then the missiles will miss and fly right by him. As mentioned already, wait until he's popped his flares, then follow him till he takes a straight line and launch as many rockets as you can up his dirt box. Worked for me anyway. :)

Missile are useless against jets and almost useless against helos. Never use them unless you're so close that you can fire them and hit without a lock. Otherwise use the gun.

No use missiles only when u have lock and he/she is flying strait then fire 2 missiles......i need help bombing....

You have to be a bit far behind them and the enemy jet usually has to be flying straight to hit him with rockets. If you're too close, it will be harder to hit the jet.

If you're being targeted by a jet, DO NOT fly in a straight path for more than 5 seconds. This will obviously result in you getting shot down (depending if the enemy jet has rockets or not). Keep as low as you can and make an assortment of turns and flips to try to get him off you. If you have to, fly in circles. It's a way to avoid any attack but it may get boring and isn't that good of a strategy.

actually he still gets the lock on warning even if u turn off the lock, as long as there are missiles chasing him, even friendly missiles.

Dude I fly behind enemy jets for a few minutes to wait for that great shot lol. I switch to bomb hud and tailgate them.

This is key to shooting jets down.Taligate your opponent untill he gets comfortable and then switch to missles and fire quickly but be very close but not so close that you over shoot them.Shoot 2 or 3 missles and switch back to bomb mode in case you missed or they manage to drop flares, stay behind them and as soon as you have another shot take it..It is very difficult to shoot someone down with guns when they know you are shooting at them unless they are a rookie pilot or you are an exceptionally good pilot..

I shot down a few planes with my guns because my dumb allies lost the damn airfield and all I had was my guns!!!!!!

heres a good tactic for all to use.When hunting the skys switch ot the bombing hud untill you find and get a good distance from the opponet.He'll never iknow your behind him.Get closer and strady up and start fireing the guns at him.Make sure your still in bombing hud mode.He'll think someone on the ground is shooting him or he'll release his flares pre-maturely.If he releases the flares switch and lock on him and fire 4 rockets all at once.By doing that you have a 1 in 4 chance of taking his half damaged plane down considering you damaged it with the guns.

Ive had many kills doing this and i hardly use the missles anymore unless hes just a total noob.

Oh and i reccomend you get a joystick to fly.So much easier and theres so much more you can do as far as manuvers and such.
