Calling all good pilots. Need some help

I don't fly that much, mainly because it's a real pain to actually get in a jet. You either get killed by a teammate loser, or while standing around waiting for a plane to spawn you get bombed to hell.

Lately I have decided to get into planes more. The other night on Oman I didn't have to fight the retard tkers to get a plane. Unfortunately, I suck. Really, really suck. That will improve with time and hopefully some tips from the experts.

I'm not worried too much about bombing. That's not too bad. What I can't seem to do is shoot someone down. It's unreal. I can get behind another plane and fire 6 missiles and never hit them. I can keep my canon opened up but I'm not too good at that, either. My main concern is the missiles. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled right behind someone, opened up with canon and missiles, but fail to even hit the jerk. What's teh secret? I get show down by other jets all the time. I rarely see one of their missiles that missed go flying by me so what are they doing that I am not? I can't even shoot down a helo. It's sad. HELP!!!!!!!

Missile are useless against jets and almost useless against helos. Never use them unless you're so close that you can fire them and hit without a lock. Otherwise use the gun.

Dropping flares with x will distract the missiles from thier target. Wait for yuor enemy to drop his flares, after that lock onto him again and wait till hes flying almost straight infront of you for jsut a second and let rip with 2 rockets.

if u want your first missil to be very agressive with the other jet, u have to have a great timing...when the "shot" appears in your HUD u have to fire the missil in almost the same time that the "shot" appears....helis are easy just use the cannon and be very agressive with your target, shoot the missils only if u are attaking the heli from behind and when you are very close to him

Use the machine guns and give it some damage, then use the missiles when the enemy plane is flying in a straight line and you launch two missiles and take them down.

why in straight line???? man i can it u if u are doing a looping or even in a turn man u just need timing to got good missils.

A general rule

If you are having problem following someone with the F35B, give up, because the pilot you are chasing isnt a noob and, if hes not a noob, you have no chance of killing him in a F35B.

Either get a F18 or stick to bombing, F35B cant outturn a bomber, what do you expect them to do in a dog fight?

does the HUD tell you when you have a missile lock? i haven't noticed because I'm too busy trying to follow the other guy and not fly into the ground.

as for the F-35, it's better than the Su-34. everytime i get in an Su-34 I get wasted almost instantly by an F-35. the Su-34 is slower and doesn't turn like the F-35.

When there's a clear tone ringing, you've got lock.

And yes, the F-35 is a better fighter than the Su-34, the F-15 and Su-34 are practically the same. That goes for the F-35 and Mig-29 aswell, but they're better than both the F-15 and Su-34. The J-10 is overpowered because of it's speed and is impossible to beat if you're up against a pilot as good as you.

Learn how to use the gun because guns are the only thing you can really trust (if the missiles don't get a real improvement in 1.2), and they do a great deal of damage (except for the F-35 and F-18 guns ://).

And get a cheap joystick, it helps. Saitek Evolution is supposed to be agood one, but from my own experience I can recommend the MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 if you can find it anywhere :P

I guess staying in bomb mode and running up on a b*tch is the way to go. That way he doesn't get the missile warning. That's probably one reason why I get wasted so much.

Worrying about missles now is pointless - if you can't hit someone flying in a straight line without flares - then you are like the rest of us. It happens all the time.

With the guns - make sure to lead your target - watch the tracers rather than the little crosshair.

They wont know its you on their tail if you use the guns, with no missile locks they just take it as like general AA fire from the ground.

Dude I fly behind enemy jets for a few minutes to wait for that great shot lol. I switch to bomb hud and tailgate them.
