blurry text o.o ...

I just reinstalled BF on my computer and everything is normal except for the text that people type during the game is blurry... It used to be sharp and defined before and now its all blurry and looks completely bad... Any way i can fix this? i have my video settings set on high, just as i did before i reinstalled the game... I dont know what could have caused this. Can anyone help.

Is AA and AF set to "Application preference in the GFX card control panel?

Anisotropic filtering (AF) is a advanced method of smoothing the textures in a 3D scene. What's advanced about it is that it uses samples the textures for smoothing differently depending on their distance to the viewer and the angle at which the viewer is seeing the object with that texture...

I wont get too technical. I think these pictures from NFS MW will tell more than i ever could. Sorry about the huge size (2.25 MB a piece)

Settings that are called something like Mipmap detail, triple/double buffering, anisotropic filtering or texture filtering might solve the texture problem you have.

this only happens with my text. everything else works completely fine. I also noticed that the text is blurred on spawn point names...

EDIT: Anti Aliasing is set to off in my game video properties... As for my nvidia properties, i dont see anything that deals with AA or AF.

Really have no clue what could cause that, since its a fresh reinstall.

Well since you just reinstalled it, howabout another reainstall? Couldnt hurt :P

Had the same problem with DC, before I found out why ..
Try to change your resolution (spelling, I know :p) on the screen :nod:

Changing the resolution sure will affect your ingame text by making it much bigger or smaller.

So check your resolution. If you set it higher, mabey the text is being stretched and therefore seemingly more blurry.

You had your screen on 800x600. And now it's on 1024x768 :)

erm, 1024x768 is regarded as the typical default resolution size, and shouldnt result in blurryness in text. I use it, and everything is as crisp as can be.

I would imagine the text would be MORE blurry in 800x600, since everything is lower in resolution and quality..

I need to smack myself. It was the resolution... So does this mean i need a 17 inch monitor to use the 1024x768 res. Because right now i have a 15inch and maybe thats why it makes the higher resoluton text blurry?

No. Doesn't matter if it's a 500000000 inch monitor. The text will be blurry. I have a 19" LCD and it's blurry. Same on my 17" CRT. It's the game resolution. Plus there is not really any noticable different between the two in my opinion.

I wondered why my friends screenshots had sharper text..he uses 800x, I use 1024x
