Helos are not that hard to take down... called practice. And the kit is called anti tank for a reason, it wouldnt make any sense for it to be anti tank/air.. I\
Everyone is an anti air class. Problem is the anti air is good at hitting.................air.......or your teams planes and choppers....fix is on the way so they say.
No they shouldn't that would make the game totally unbalanced. If you had like 6 guys in a squad all AA, the sit at the enemy airport and spawn camp all day long? How would this fix or improve anything? The jet whores would then start crying and whining about that being unfair. It turns into a never ending circle.
Lol, there were Stingers and SA-7's in DC as a class and no pilot ever complained about having his base camped or having too many Stingers in use. I suggest making some sort of flak or machinegun AA and leave the Stingers and Iglas to a separate class, that way it would pretty much be like DC and I don't recall anyone complaining about DC's AA.
Ground vehicles are just fine, my buddy took out 2 APCs and 1 Tank with the tow the other day in about 20 seconds. They didn't roll in force and paid the price.
Helicopters aren't really a problem, if they hover over a base, they will be smoking when they get hit with my AT missile. Two of hits and they will blow up very soon! As I have started to fly more attack chopper (to learn something new) I have found that your enemy, if better than you, will put up a good fight or take you down. If they aren't as good as you, they will suffer the price.
Jets, this is where I would agree with you. Can you take down a jet with AA? Once in a great while. Can you take them down with a helicopter, rarely. I don't like jets because the only thing to really combat them is another one. In most 32 player maps, that usually means there is 1 or 2 people who can make their life difficult. If your pilots suck, the game experience can go down the tubes quickly.
The proposed changes in the new patch are fine. If the AA works better, then the game will take a more balanced step in game play.

The fact is that it has been stated the AA will be improved with the 1.2 patch. This is from the mouths of the EA guys in the UK.
I feel your pain, but the truth remains even the guys that played DC and BF1942 found the jet controls very strange and they had to get used to them all over again. With the release of BF2 we all began on an even playing field. No one knew WTF was going on with the game and the learning curve was very low. I also use infantry quite a bit, I am not the most "l227 ub3r" jet pilot, but you can knock out a jet with the current AA I've done it a lot and continue to do so. The fighting chance you so dfesire should be adapting and overcoming the "disadvantage" you claim exists. Find me on a server and I'll teach you what I have learned if you are interested (not meant as a flame).
Most of what you have typed is utter crap, but I bolded the interesting part.
Frankly I'd prefer a squad of AA to a single jet for the simple fact of... WAIT FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That infantry in this game die.
The aircraft in this game are bull ****, and I for one will laugh at your stupid jet whoring face when you find that missles now arse rape you, and you chopper hoes when I blow you away with my 120.

Viva la 1.2!
Ok it's not fair for a multi-million dollar jet to take out a soldier on foot but it is fair for a soldier to take out that jet? Explain that further please.
again let me state that the reasons many of us feel this way are not those that fly, but dont whore it ..its those that whore aircraft and do nothing but spam with them.
and again let me be clear here.. noone is expecting that you can take out an aircraft with a pistol, keep the sarcasm out of this please... but having a chance to take out an aircraft with a few shots from an emplaced stinger or handhelp would not be unreasonable ... let me remind you you still have chaff/flares to help you to.
anyone that doesnt see how the balance of power is so completely shifted to the aircraft is blind, or likes the fact. at least be honest about that. and if thats what the game was supposed to be, then why put the soldier in except for fodder ?
and ill further clarify that yes, i understand its called "anti-tank" ... thus the suggestion for a new class called "anti-aircraft" or others mentioned the option of a dropped kit or perhaps from supply drops ?

I like the idea of an AT stinger unlock, or a placed pickup kit simply because all the Stinger sites are known fixed positions... A good heli gunner can strike down an AA site with a TV missile long before the heli is even within range. An experience pilot can dive bomb it, vulcan cannons blazing ala BF42 style. There arent that many Linebacker/AA vehicles in any given map either, so having these kits would make air to ground combat more interesting. BF:V had AA kits and I didnt hear much complaining there either.
Too many people think in CS mindsets, which is normal for kids, but get over it.
This is BF2, its stuck between two things, REALISM and PLAYBILITY.
REALISM: Vehicles does and will kill infantry in real world if the infantry is so stupid he would run up to a tank and hope he can survive, or stand in the middle of an airfield thats being bombed, hoping he will surivive
PLAYBILITY: Unfortunately kids are not professional soldiers, they do those things quite frequently and they are much more equpied in whining/smack talking than soldiers, so on the other hand you have to change the game to satisify the whiners.
The only thing that needs to be fixed is MISSILE GUIDANCE (which tbh is realistic right now but not playable), and F35B manuverability (cant outturn a bomber).
If you want anything else changed/removed why dont you go whore counter strike.
this is the third time in the last 24 hours ive seen this "CS mindset" comments made, and its been accompanied with some form of innuendo that they are "kids" or "whiners"... frankly i think your a bit full of yourself in these remarks and you act like theres no middle ground.
peoplethat have been in the BF series have already pointed out that these types of anti-aircraft things are not new to the series, so why oppose them now ? why were thy removed ?
god it isnt like were asking for an automatic one shot kill here ... but increasing the accuracy and effeciency of the current AA measure, and adding some portable ones so you cant just fly around the emplacements since you know precisely where they are (not realistic or logical either, but that gets left out).
once again ... say it with me .. balance ! give us on the ground a chance .. not an automatic... a chance
Does anyone besides me think the game is pretty much fine? The only thing that needs to be address are the bugs. Geez, this is worse then the CS community cryin. :hmm:

Over all the game is fine, but I think the argument that the air power (jets more than helicopters) is valid one. I believe the only type of person who likes the jets the way they are now are the players that fly them most of the time.
In the rock, scissors, paper formula, the rock can be helicopters, the scissors can be vehicles and the paper can be infantry. Where is the jet in this formula? They are in category all by themselves and thus not really present in the intended formula of the game.
The machine guns can "snipe" infantry on the ground. The missiles can take out choppers if the pilot isn't paying attention. The freaking bombs of spammage can take out anything and every thing on the ground.
What can take out a jet? Most of the time, it's another jet. But why would a jet pilot want to go through the hassles of taking out another jet for a possible 2-4 points? Wouldn't they rather get along in the air so they can bomb the hell out of the other 30-60 people playing on the ground?
If any one says...
1. "Run away from their bombs" What kind of game is that? Every threat in game should be able to be neutralized. The jets offer too many problems and most of them can't be neutralized.
2. "Learn to fly". So we can have every body in the game standing on the airstrip or carrier as a sniper trying to TK every one else? The majority of the game happens on the ground (vehicles and infantry). But as I see it right now, the few in the sky have it too easy to kill those on the ground. So a few players in the server are affecting the game (negatively in my opinion) for everyone else. That's not balanced.
If there was a threat to a jet, besides their point whoring counterparts, I probably wouldn't hate them so much. Maybe the next patch will make it more balanced. We will see...
