I know that I have put in more than 5 minutes in a AA vehicle as well as the stationary air defense. I have not gotten this badge yet. Anyone else have problems getting this one?

Jump into a mobile AA and drive around shooting choppers out of the sky. I got mine that way. It takes time of course, and you have to be careful that you do not shoot down friendly aircraft. Good Luck! -

Thanks. Problem is, I have done this on plenty of rounds and for longer than 5 minutes. Tonight I even managed to shoot down 3 choppers with a mobile AA in about 8 minutes. Still no badge.Comment

I ended up shooting 6 choppers in Dragon Valley. It does not hurt to be commander while you do this too

The easiest, and cheapest, way to do it is to be a commander while manning the AA gun. You can get the badge if you kill enough ppl with the Arty. Same goes for the ground defense. I got every single badge already, and more than half of them, I got them from being commander! Seems cheap, but its a tactic anywayz.Comment

For all these "How do I get my xxxx badge," why dont you just find an empty ranked server (there are many), and jump in an AA, and go watch TV. Come back, and you'll definitely have the badge by then!Comment

Well in that case, howabout finding a ranked server with a few amount of people, and just taking the AA vehicle and hiding behind some trees at the very border of the map.Comment

Both the Air Defense and Ground Defense badges are both more like 10 minutes.
All you have to do is sit there, you dont have to kill anyone or even shoot.
To be sure of getting them you can sit at a UCB and go get a coffee.
Same with the Transport badge.
Not that I did that for any of those

For the time based award I got mine on Dalian Plant sitting the the carrier AA site while commanding. I was in it for WAY longer than 5 minutes when it gave it to me, like 15-20, the round was almost over. It's almost like the part of the game that counts how long you do something for your badges has ADD sometimes.
For the kill version I got it on Dragon Valley 64 person as China. That one island near the middle has 3 AA launchers on it. I just fired 2 shots at a cobra, ran to the next fired those, then ran to the next. They never knew which one was being fired at em til I was already at another one. By the end of the round I had shot down 17 Cobras. Niether their flares nor the crappy missile coding could stop it, it was just the sheer amount of them in the air at once, pretty much guarantees that atleast 2 will hit.Comment

No he's right, in the Daqing Oilfields you can goto the Chinese airfield and destroy any choppers that come back to refuel, they can't see you, its very difficult, but you will need a supply box, you're very hard to hit too by jets.
Thats if you wan't to earn it, otherwise just grab an AA and be commander.Comment

or be commander, sit in a stinger and get your kills with arty.Comment
