yeah thats me and it says im a master sergant which it does in game, but i have 33000 and all the medals



And i cant get promoted to First Sergant.

Arent there other specifications or another badge? Its possible that you temperarly can't get promoted because they are changing the ranking system

Appears not. EA are ****ing useless. How hard can it be to do a simple check every time you reach 1000 points and assign a new rank if you reach the required level? Even i could do an if statement for that!

Technically not very, but where's the 'fun' in handing out the First SGT rank to every Tom, **** & Harry?
There has to be something to set the casual players and those that strive towards a specific goal. EA has done this by setting requirements for specific Ranks. At the time of promotion, you did not forfill the requirements for the rank of First SGT, thus you were awarded with the rank of Master SGT.

As a Master SGT, you are no worse off than if you were a First SGT. You would have exactly the same number of unlocks as a First SGT. The only 'advantage' as a First SGT has is that you out rank Master SGT's in commander elections, same as a SGT Major outranks a Master Gunny SGT

Before I take my leave, I'm going to ask one question. Why is it that Master SGT's (generally) get so riled up when they find out they can't become a First SGT? ZOMG teh diamond iz 1337

(NOTE: I'm not takling about those that suffered from the simultaneous badge bug pre-1.03, they have a ewvery right to be ****ed)

Instead of making my own post about this, I'll just post in here. I have owned the game since day 1, but never played it seriously. I recently got back into BF2 and got a new account. Well, I reached 548 points yesterday. I should have been promoted to Lance Corporal, but it never did. I know sometimes EA has delay, but in that same map as I should have been promoted, I recieved the Bronze Medal. That medal showed up instantly on the stats, but the promotion did not. In the following link, look at the numbers on top. Says I need -48 to reach Lance Corporal lol. Anyway to figure out how to get promoted?! Thanks.

The thing is, i did meet the requirements. The requirements were most of the basic badges right? Including knife and pistol. Well, i got my basic and vet pistol in the same round (kill 50 global before i ever got 7 in a round and then i gor 7 in a round which meant i met requirements for both badges) so EA doesnt think i have basic hence no promotion. Ive just hit 50K points and i still havent been promoted to Sgt Major (see the bar at the bottom in my profile) even though i had all the basic badges that were required for that too. This game is just ****, full of so many bugs and im not going to be giving anymore money to them by buying expansion etc.

You have run into the "I didn't give the stats server enough time to update before opening my mouth" bug :laugh:
Check your stats :)

gonna bump this back up ... when i reached 20,000 and got promoted to master sgt i didnt have all my badges ... i was missing the engineer badge, the knife badge and the explosives badge ... i got the explosives and repair no problems. but when getting the knife i got both basic and veteran at the sametime and i cant seem to get promoted now ... any ideas? i joined about 7 different servers to see if i could get promoted but no dice...

To be promoted to First SGT you MUST have had all Basic Combat before 20000. You did not, so you were promoted to Master SGT.
You can not and will not ever be promoted to First SGT
