Yup. It's a known bug. I've seen it happen on offical EA servers (don't ask me why I was playing on EA servers... bad night, the only one with a desent ping that wasn't full).
I've also been trapped in a squad that no-one else could join and the SL was a memeber of a different squad.

Yes I have seen it, try playing on KFS: Kentucky fried servers
This is a ranked server, and it is rank ok.
The MEC squads is just the tip o' the burg.
They also:
call everyone who kill them (they are always SAS): N#gger,f*cker,Sh#thead,f*ckface, a##hole, motherf%cker, and every other expletive on the planet

KFC is a long running clan that prides themselves on acting like jackasses. They have a distinct lack of maturety as the heart and soul of their clan. The best way to avoid them is to not play on their servers. I very rarely see them playing anywhere else, because they tend to get kicked and banned.

Reoprting them might do in their server, but that's just likely to make 'em spread into other servers. Better to leave 'em alone to safely fester in their own stink.

I told one KFS guy to tone it down when he called me a motherf%cking c$cksucking a##hole. He kicked me. He was the Admin! My ban message said "you have been banned for being a self-righteous piece of sh#t"
They spawn camp, bunnyhop, dolphindive, point farm, stat pad, they do it all. It is hands down the WORST BF2 server I have ever been on.
The funniest part of the Mech squad lockout was that they were talking mad smack to us for getting owned continously. Funny we couldn't ask for supplies, UAV or Arty support. So a bunch of us said, unlock the Mec squads and we will see who beats who. Guess what? Every one of us that said it got kicked.
THERE SHOULD BE AN INTELLIGENCE and EMPATHY TEST BEFORE YOU CAN RENT A BF2 SERVER!

Do they have a website? I might have fun with them...

I was on that server and they were spamming in the chat: "abortion is wrong", "jesus rocks" and stuff like that becuase they are a chrisitian server.

So I got anoyned and in all caps, centered, in the chat wrote:
"Jesus loves me. I just make him wear a condom."

That's when I got banned for life from that server.

I was once trapped in a locked squad for a 16 player Karkand battle and the squadleader was idle on top of the hotel building the entire round.

Nah, just a server bug, happens sometimes, it depends on the server.

i must admit i have encountered this also i never realised it was just for the MEC side i assumed that making squads was disbled for both sides, i thought at the time it was stupid but i guess if they make so only the US can make squads its gives a advantage and so explians why they do it, doesnt excuse it thought the wan kers.

I and others have already said its a bug. It is not just for the MEC side and not just for BF2, it also happens in SF.

I play on moders ghost town and its a server bug, at least there. The spetz team can't make squads half the time. But sometimes neither can the SAS....

Yea i play there all the time too, VOIP isnt working on non of the Moders servers somehow.(yes it is supposed to be a VOIP server) and evryone switches to SAS for the better weopons in the beginning.(EA make those SF unlocks also global!)
