    Re: Improving Team Play

If there's a reward for the winning team, you'd see people abusing it by switching to the winning team at the end of the round. Auto-balance would solve this, but then every ranked server would have to enforce auto-balance... which can make playing with buddies hard.

Ya wanna see some good teamwork? Start with yourself. The easiest way to see good teamwork is to join a squad and be the best damned squad member you can be. Check out the kits being used by the squad. Fill in a gap. Spawn on the SL every fuggin time. Keep tabs on the SL and make sure you back him up... even if he's doing something hairbrained. If he really sucks as an SL, leave and join a different squad.

It's my observation that good squad memebers are more important than good squad leaders.

    Give it a shot.

I just KNOW I am gonna be flamed for this, but I think Tactical Gamers is unranked. I like to try and play for "something" (ie. medals/ribbons) in addition to being able to experience a good game (ie. Tactical Gamers style rules).

The pursuit of medals/ribbons is just a personal thing. Notice that I don't have a stats sig because I'm not trying to impress. It's just a fetish. I love that drumroll.

Thanks, I tried that server and have much more fun playing the game...good tip

Tourneys like the one Myinternetservices host which are 21CW and global assault are where the players care about the win and not so much the points even though its fun to see how many times you can blow away a high ranking officer hehe.

Anyway, if your team wins 100 to zero then you get 100 points added to your score. Zero to 100 you get no points and the other team gets 100. So the more tickets you can manage to hang on to, the larger your reward for helping your team win. Heres an example, I am the commander and my team wins by 40. I get 30 points times 2 plus my team won by 40 so 100 points total. I think this would be all it would take to end the team play issue.

Yes, this type of reward would certainly improve team play, I would add only that this points would only be given to players that would stick the whole round with the same team...or if the change in teams was forced by the server autobalance.

              Re: Improving Team Play

If you want some really good teamwork (and fun at the sametime) I suggest doing like some of us at BF2FI (Battlefield 2 Finland) community do.

We formed some sort of Public-clan, without any tags and $hit.
Nothing official, just our own mIRC and TeamSpeak channels. About every evening, we gather to the channel (some of us idle there like 24/7) and then ask around who's willing to play? We go to the TS channel, and start looking for the server... Then IP address to the mIRC channel and we all go fill the server. Teamwork is easy, because we can talk with eachother and give orders / inform enemy movements. Some people take alcohol during the evening/night and their voices start sounding like.. well..

My suggestion is to build somekind of smaller communties inside the community of totalbf2.com. Start your channels, get your friends, and start having fun! The amount of people should be like ~50, so that it is quaranteed that someone is always online with you. This way you don't have to stand any helium sucking teenagers, other than the ones you kill. (No offence)

Don't use The Question as basis for what normal people think about clans, The Question has got some mental problems.
