    Terminology: Nub, Noob, Tard

    As applied to BF2.
We have three distinct classes of people here (not inclusive of all BF2 classes, such as the whore).

Nub: A new guy. Doesn't really know what the hell he's doing, but he's new. We all start off as nubs.

Noob: He really should have figured out that trying to fly a fully loaded blackhawk in a busy server, without having a clue HOW to fly, is a bad idea.
This also includes people who have ideas about how the game works that are just flat out wrong and easily proven, yet refuse to grasp it. For example, believing that the whole team gets X2 for winning or that being punished impacts your score.
It's not really their fault they are being stupid. They're just not learning as they should.

Tard: Just utterly usless people. Your team would infact be better off if their slot was empty. This includes people running into firendly artillery while playing SL, commanders who fly jets, and vehicle hijackers. These guys will never get it. They're write offs.
    Sub classes:
Noob-tard: A degree of worse noobism than a simple noob. Doing something noob-stupid, then doing it again quafies.
Smack-tard: He still thinks that smack talk in a video game is cool. Really got catch up to the times or get out more, fella!
Whine-tard: You can't hear a damned thing on VoiP because this guy is complaining about everything... including how he keeps being kicked from squads.
F:censored:k-tard: Your run of the mill griefer. A cheater, disrupter, exploiter. All round general loser that needs to be forcably removed from the gene pool.

haha , nah i ment for bf2 specific , thats why i said re-tard and not retard.

people who keep doing the same things over and over again , like waiting for plane to spawn , probably tk to get , and usually crash or get shot down 10 secs later , re (<--) spawn again , re sprint to hangar , re tk to get plane and recrash again...

Anyone who spells "noob/newb" like "nub" is a fool.

                I just keep things at
                n00b = moron with experience
newb/ie = some one who lacks experience but can become pro so technicaly you could have a pro newbie.

Besides that i find that terms such as ignorant, fool, idiot, unaware, mentaly defective, and imbecile are effective enough to wake certain people up.

I find it just sets them off and wakes them up....into a new level of moronic activity which is usually 3 times or more worse than before.

                    My theory:

Newb: They're new, they don't know what's going on, but are generally humble and willing to learn and will stay out of the way when they know better.

N00b: Encompasses all the "should know better but don't" people out there. These people punish TK's, TK for vehicles, are the commanders who fly planes, exploit, cheat...anything negative and causes trouble and rage, they do it. And when you ask them about it? That just fuels the fire as they obviously get a kick out of people pointing out how useless they are, and then supporting their own worthlessness with insults often heard from 3rd graders and an excessive use of profanity.

Things can be subdivided, but that's my differentiation between newb and n00b. Perhaps there could be an entire chart developed of BF2 players? OK...I take that back, that would be a scary piece of literature...

I have a suggestion about terminology.
Let's call the three classes newbie, bad player and retard.

There no need to change the meaning of existing words and I don't have to get ****ed of on people who call bad players "noobs". There is no way you can make that judgement based on score alone.

Actually, I recall seeing the term "nub" before noob or newbie. I think it was in referance to Streetfighter originally.

Until I see an umlaut on the "u" it's just the word nub, which is a small proturberance. Nüb would be a different story.

If you consider that noob et al are derived from "newbie", I'd expect that "newb" came first. I really hope no one decided to spell the original newbie like "nubby".

the term "10 years old" should suffice for all above terms

I once played someone that smack talks so bad (and so illogical) that I asked about his age, and he said he was 8 years old.
