I agree with this, you cannot even destroy the planes in the hanger. Of course adding destructible environments would be overwhelming to any computer rig, but it just feels a bit stale now. I believe that some of the regular BF2 maps could use some tweaking. I think we can all agree that we need a couple more maps for regular BF2 as well.

....wait I thought that was vanilla....could it be both?!?! god damn ea

Anywho the sf maps dont look as good but they are built better for what the player gets I think. Vanilla has much more tank whorage and spawn camping etc. While this happens in SF I dont find myself getting ****ed at cheapness as much except for the chopper whores.

I'd say there's as much tank whorage...but a better kind of tank whorage. Heck, I went back to vanilla yesterday, oh man, by the end of the first 2 rounds I was AFRIAD to get in armor because I've all the times a jet bombed me or a heli destroyed me. Armor is probably safer...but also less deadly (since there's lots of cover from it). I perfer it that way.

I too like SF maps a lot better. They are as much all close quarters combat as vanilla maps were all long range combat...except slightly less so. And the amount of cover from vehicles and artillery is SO nice. I finally have some control over my death even when the other team has a pilot who is .01% better than our's or we are down to one base! Even though a chopper in Iron Gator can slaughter ground troops 3 times as easily as it can on Sharqi (and that's saying something), you can actually avoid it (*gasp*) by staying in the 4 indoor bases.
