Its not around the forums is because its somewhat obvious, just like theres no forum "tip" that say "hey i found a nice thing, if you press left mouse button your gun fires!"

That picking up another player's class kit give you their weapon unlocks is obvious?

And I've hung around many forums before this one... I've never seen such a prevailing attitude as here. This is my first FPS forum though so... Different cuture for sure. Still, there are nice folk here too and my hat's off to them.

Picking up another kit is even listed in EA's skimpy little manual. But perhaps people didn't realize the benefits of picking up another person's kit? Picking up kits has been a part of BF since 1942 so I can understand why some people would find this an obvious thing to do.

Welcome to all new players to the BF series. ps. G works to pick-up grapple hooks and zip lines in SF as well.

This is a tip I heavily emphasize in the BF2 FAQ on GameFAQs. If anything, play by default as Assault or Medic, and interchange frequently. Even veterans are too stubborn to switch since they make "one-class" oaths, and what not. Picking up an AT kit to fire 2-3 rockets at a tank can save a flag.

Revive your own medics that get killed by taking their kit, and shocking them. This is a rarity, but if one of your Spec Ops plants C4 on a target, and gets killed, pick up his kit. Pull out the detonator and the tracked C4 will explode.
The possibilities are endless with picking up kits, not to mention the unlocks you can gain temporary control of.

When I first started playing BF2 (last month, first of the BF series for myself) I was getting verbally (VOIP) yelled at that I was an idiot for not knowing how to drop med packs and ammo. New players joining even still. :)

Yeah its unfortunate that people in the game and forums sometimes aren't as noob-friendly as we'd like. I can understand it though ; in the heat of the battle when you need a medpack or ammopack, the 'noob' doesn't know how to drop the pack.

However I'm sure in a less 'stressful' situation they wouldn't be as mean
You'll be surprised though that none of them realise they too were once a noob lol

Of course, I've caught engineers repairing their tanks before. Killed them, took their kit, finished repairing the tank, and drove off.

nothing more satisfying than killing a medic, running over and picking up his kit and then holding his medic bag (while staring at his corpse) and healing myself. I might even break out the paddles just to bzzzzt on him once or twice... Then switch back to my kit, teabag him a couple times for good measure, and head out...

Considering odds are that he's in the respawn/weapon selection screen and can't see what you are doing, the fact that you find that so satisfying is actually kind of disturbing in a way.

My favorite, if you get killed while placing C-4 on an enemy vehicle and are able to re-spawn back at the same flag. Run and pick up you old kit and switch to the detonator (you kit will still be there). Or you can pick up the kit of a teammate that was placing C-4 likewise and take out the Tank or APC that the charges are on.

A slightly different Idea here. I went to the our commanders hard assets with another player. He was an engineer and I was a spec ops. Any way he got killed while repairing the scan trailer, so I switched kits and finished the job of fixing UAV and arty.

I also noticed some players Identify friends and foes by the weapons they carry. If Im destroying the enemy arty and I kill a enemy player carring an AK-47 Ill swap kits with him on the way out. Ive actually carried an AK-47 and fell in behind a group of enemy players and been able to follow them to my teams closest flag. I wanted to see how far I could go doing this and when we got there couldnt resist the extra flag defense points. (normal kill 2 points, kill with flag defense 3 points).....Red

good one, I do that too, grab his kit and healmyself and spam a couple of bags out for good measure then change back to my kit.
