    A tip I don't see mentioned often

I put this as a reply in the tips & tricks section as well:

Pick up the packs of the dead (enemy or friendly) and see what they have. It's possible they have unlocks that you don't. If so, then you get to use them as long as you're carrying around that pack (ie until you die or grab a different one).

If you don't like what you find, just pick your own pack back up and off you go! You might be surprised at how often you get to use some neat upgrades you otherwise haven't unlocked!

Default key for pack pick up is "G".

    Happy Hunting all!

Here's a tip just like that. If you see a team mate go down near you, run up to them (if you aren't being shot at yourself of course) and switch kits with them. There is a 1 in 7 chance they are a medic, and you could revive them after picking up their kit. You get stuck as a medic since they take your kit, but you helped your team and that is what counts. If they aren't a medic...well if you don't like their kit, you can always switch back :p

Only time I pick up an enemy's kit is when they're medic/support, and I'm in need of whatever special abilities they have to offer. Of course, I've caught engineers repairing their tanks before. Killed them, took their kit, finished repairing the tank, and drove off.

blingo - do it all the time and it usually gets a thank you or a suprised tell from the rezzed playa.

Swap kits to add instult to the kill by throwing their c4 on them and pressing that little button.
Kit swap is always good for a few extra points. Swap to ammo or med, throw a few around, swap back. (also quite useful for yourself too)

My apologies if my post was obvious. I didn't search the forums as a whole, but I did read through the entirety of the "Tips & Tricks" sticky and didn't see this one listed. Since that sticky seemed pretty comprehensive I figured it wasn't mentioned.

The "grab the medic kit and rez 'im" tip was mentioned, but not that you get whatever weapon unlocks the other person had. That, to me, was new.

After reading through more posts around here, I noticed many here have an acerbic tone for new players and/or new people to the forums. My thanks go to those of you who are more receptive and tolerant of new people!

your tip may be obvious to the folks that play alot or lurk on forums but it bears mentioning every once and a while. it save tickets for your team. that is if you are interested in your team winning. (unless you get swapped to the other side by wonderful autobalance.)

as for the acerbic tone - time for some callous growing, bro. this forum and just about every other is full of over-dedicated jaghoffs who like us to read the depths of their pulitzer-prize-winning biting wit and sour tone.

                    lowest common denominator.

but, weed through the crap and you will find a sage or two.

                    signed,
                    the second biggest jaghoff here.

Its not around the forums is because its somewhat obvious, just like theres no forum "tip" that say "hey i found a nice thing, if you press left mouse button your gun fires!"

                        you get the idea.

I was chasing after a guy under the bridge on M. City and he stopped to heal himself so I whipped out the knife and stuck him. I then picked up his kit, threw a med pack on the ground, switched back to my kit, and walked over the med pack. He must have been kicked himself at that point. It was great! The knife part had to be the icing on the cake.
