Re: CD problems with BF 2

A better way is to install a program called "Daemon tools" which can set up a dummy cd drive that fools the computer into thinking the cd is in. Then you dont have to wear your cd/dvd down with all that spinning etc.

Its a way around the fact that there isnt a no CD patch yet.

      Right Click My Computer

      Select Properties

      click hardware tab

      click device manager

click + next to DVD/CD Rom Driver

Right click on your CD Drive, choose uninstal

      reboot your machine

Very sure, windows will automatically re-install the drivers without needing to load any files.

You do not need your CD in the drive to play BF2. If you get Alcohol 120 or Alcohol 52 or even a new version of Nero it has a "virtual drive". This makes the application think that you have the CD in the drive. It then starts the game. It is not a hack or a cheat. Very legit and I am suprised that you have not seen any threads about it yet.

Re: CD problems with BF 2

this is what doesnt make sense. last nite the pc wouldnt detect the cd at all. today i switch on and it detects it

theres no logical reason for it

when i tryed that alcohol program last i got constant read errors runnin that alcohol program. the cdrom cant be that bad.

there's a read sub channel from disc file that was optional but i didnt tick it. could that be the reason for the errors?

if i do tick it how do i know what data source the cd is?

evem better. can anyone else who has used the alcohol program or the daemon one post exactly what they done. please be quick as the cd could go on the blink at any moment
