CD problems with BF 2

For some reason my cd rom is not reading my bf2 cd all of the sudden, its starts to spin then nothing happens , same with need for speed most wanted. They are both EA Games what could be the problem? All my other games work except bf2 and NFSMW. Some help would be nice cause i love these games.

Also system restore did nothing either so any help would be nice. thanks

Sounds like a dying drive to me. Try going into your device manager and uninstalling the drive and then rebooting. After it reinstalls the drive, it may work.

If it does not come back up, the next question is are the EA Games on DVD and the others on CD? If that's the case, the drive may have puked on one type and were back to the drive needing replaced.

OK i unistalled it then reinstalled it it found the new hardware still nothing should i restart computer after reinstalling the driver. then click the icon of the game?

No there not DVD there was more than 1 cd involved.

If that did not work, then the chance is your drive is not recognizing the media. How long have you had that drive?

Sounds like the drive is out. I can't think of anything else to do at this point. Have you recently done anything like flash the firmware on the drive or install new burning software?

could try flashing the firmware on the drive, assuming there is one available, at this point you can't hurt it. And it's possible that a firmware re-flash *could* bring it back. I would find it very amusing if this was related to the SONY DRM Fiasco. . .

tHanks it worked i just had to restart the computer after unistalling the drive then reinstall .

4. WORKS!!!

Can someone tell me exactly how to reinstall the drive? because im not that good with pc's.
