That's why I don't care about the size. Its that large to keep it good quality and seeings how you need broadband to play BF2 it shouldn't be a problem

I always start up BF2 and say to myself, today I'm gonna get that knife badge... But it always ends up with me playing like I always do. It just feels so retarded running around with the knife out... :)

Don't run around with your knife out. Not only do you look retarder, it is retarded!
Use your standard gun to keep you safe while you move into position. The secret to good knifing is to never pull it until you are ready to use it. I suggest going medic for the badge since if you play medic, you are already used to not being able to count on your gun and moving quickly.

I got my 100th knife kill tonight and I'm up to a KDR of 2.73.
Now I'm gonna have to think about going for my expert knife badge.

Never run around with your knife drawn... I totally agree there.

As some of us pointed out, when you see somebody nearby not shooting at you, you have a 1 chance in 2 not firing at him, that is... until you realized he is wearing the wrong uniform... That's why you can end up running along enemies without them really understanding what is happening (as was already stated before).

To me, another players with his gun seems less dangerous than a guys wiht a knife... Chances are it's a buddy. If I see a knife I get cautious until I recognize him for a friend.

All this long rant to write about my first tries to get the knife badge: I thought about stealth and surprise. Thus I chose to use the Sniper kit. First and foremost reason is that nothing looks more like a sniper than another sniper, be they USMC, PLA or MEC. That is... until you get real close. And did you notice how long it take for the name tag to appear above a sniper when you look at him? Enemy or Friendly? That is the question. And that's how I bagged some of my first knife kills. I would play sniper and approach my target with sniper rifle in hand. Pistols would also have been ok but people can also be cautious of all-out-pistols guys whereas most of them think "duh... a sniper approaching me with a rifle? Only a friend would dare". And then SLASH! SURPRISE!. It worked great but the trouble is if you missed the first slash you shall received a whole load of lead and everybody knows lead in dangerous to your health :p

In the end I got my Basic & Veteran with the Assault class. Better armor, better survival rates when you rush the last 5 to 10 meters with your knife out when the enemy wastes bullets at you firing from the hip with an awful recoil...

For those nasty guys who happen to own BF2:SF and who have unlocked the Assault weappon (F2000N) have you noticed you have a flashbang instead of a regular grenade? Great for knife kills: you spot a bunch of players (or even isolated ones), you blind them and then you slash them from ear to ear while they are running headlong in walls or crates...

I know it's not "fair" but who said close quarter knife fight is fair?

Good luck with that one. I got my vet badge sneaking around in the bushes at Shongua Stalemate. I haven't even considered going for the expert badge yet because of what it will most likely do to my overall K/D. If you wanna get 18 kills in a round you have to take some chances.

                Re: Knife Badge - Frustrating!

Oh, I take chances all the time.
It's not like I really give a damn about my KDR most of the time. I'm being good with my knife one though, so it might just be a little rough getting that many kills cleanly.

I'd have to pull some serious matrix stuff.

BTW, that's how I got my basic. I got 17 in that round. 8 in a streak. It was a hell of a round, lemme tells ya.

damn...how can you get expert one.
I get like 10 kills IAR, but 18...need a lot of luck or noobs playing.

yes sin because repeatedly pressing the space bar is an exploit right? stop whining noob you ain't ever gonna get better at bf2, just stay negative in pubs all day using bunny hoppers as an excuse for how bad you are.

ok, remember that bunnyhop/dolphin dive + uav + knife > any soldier in bf2. knife badge is one of the easiest badges you can get. my personal record is 22 kniife kills in one round of 64 player karkand, during which I completely demolished a 4 man squad by sneaking up on them with the help of a uav and getting 4 kills in 6 seconds, ya rly
