          I've had a 20" Dell widescreen for a year now. I need 1680x1050 16:10 support.

Another customer begging to be listened.

EA/DICE, PLEASE ADD SUPPORT FOR WIDESCREEN MONITORS

I am another user of a widescreen monitor (1680x1050) that requests for true widescreen support, even if its not supported in-game; even if the only way to correct the FOV is by adding a (FOV) command line in addition to the resolution command line.

The only two solutions for us right now is to either have a stretched image, or to have a cut out image. The first is non-realistic and very distracting. The latter yields a very deceiving sense of distance. This is very frustrating when flying an airplane fighter, dodging trees and flying low, only to crash because the airplane is actually lower to the ground than what it seems. (I have over 40 hours in a plane, and never crashed as much on the ground as I do with the current widescreen support)

Having true widescreen support is not about us having a killer advantage on the battlefield. Its about us having the right feel of the game. Its about having a more immersive experience of this great game. Its about not being nerfed for having a different piece of harware than the average gamer. The great majority of respectable, visual-intensive computer games of today support widescreen. Its a shame that BF2 falls short on this issue that could be fixed with relative ease.

Here's to hoping EA and DICE listen to their loyal customers...

im signing against this, because it means they might not work on something else as hard.

Given the fact that BF2 forced many people to upgrade their video hardware, it would have been nice to not have to ask for a patch for something that competing games support out of the box.
