Re: Do you think there are not enough vehicles in BF2 maps?

What about how many spaces a unit has to hold troops?
One thing i don't like about the BF games is the rule of 6 for things like APCs and transport helos. If that one person couldn't drive and gun i do think a good number people would reconsider running off unless part of a clan only squad waiting for people to spawn in.

Maps with less of a main all the good stuff sits there and no place else base would be nice for big maps. Spread out the toys so most of them would be right at the front lines and even than walking wouldn't be a bad idea too.

The amount of vehicles is different for every map. Personaly i think the amount of vehicles suits the strategy each map recuires. Infantry lovers tend to play the urban maps. Vehicle lovers have maps left where there are enough vehicles. Just invite people for a ride if you are in a vehicle and ask for a ride when you're not. If we all play together there are plenty of vehicles.

And please NO MORE CHOPPERS. I get owned by them enough.

hmmmm more vehicles AND more flags too, some maps would be better with more flags, the maps in bf2 are way too infantery oriented, too closed, remember bf1942 maps? now THOSE were maps, very open maps with loads of flags where u could go full speed with a squad of tanks to take a flag without worrying to hit a house or a tree, in bf2 its usually only a tank or 2 to each side, its impossible to make huge long distance tank combats like in bf1942.

if u look closelly allmost everyone in the top of the tank and engineer leaderboard are ppl that play tank (or apc)99% of the time in karkand shooting at infantery and most of them never shot another tank in their life....

Yep, it happens to me alot. I really hate getting stuck at my own base. Although a few spec ops and AT kits could defend a base from tanks, it IS an uphill battle so I prefer to walk for miles finding a ride. It would be neat if there were random vehicles that spawned in the unused portions of the maps, or even civvy vehicles like what was promised to us by EA.

I think DICE wanted an even balance of infantry combat and vehicle combat in BF2. Honestly though, if people want infantry combat, they should load up SF or go play karkand. There ought to be seperate "vehicle only" maps for the many people that love them as opposed to the infantry and vehicle mixed maps that we have now.

              Grrr.

Just when I get the peace and quite of slapping Vomit on my ignore list, he goes and makes a thread worth thinking about.

This is what tweeks me off so much about the guy. His brain works just fine... he's just too lazy to use it in rational discussion most of the time.

Yes, it would be a good idea to include more single seat vehicles for point to point travel. In fact, I'd love to see some maps with more of everything. The max number of planes on either side on all the standard maps is 2 each. And folks wonder why it's so hard to get a chance to fly and/or TKing for 'em is so rampent? It's a matter of supply and demand.

SF does a better job of this. Most maps have ATVs on 'em and I find I'm never short a ride when I need it. Hardly anyone bothers to drive the tacticals either (which is a shame, the move better than most of the other ground vehicles IMO).

I would also like to see designers come to understand that the more valuable the asset, the more man power it should take to use it. The Blackhawk and attack choppers do this very well, while the tanks don't do it at all. I would love to see tanks that require main gunners to man the turret. You'd see a huge increase in teamwork right there.

The trick is to give the loanwolves something they can use, but make teamwork a requirment to use the valuable assets properly. The BF games have never been good at this... and it's one of the main reasons I never got into BF42 or BFV heavily. At the time, I had Tribes 2 ta play with and they did a much better job in this reguard (Bombers and and tanks needed atleast 2 to crew 'em, while hover bikes and scout fighters were ideal for loanwolves).

What i would like in BF2 is to have a transporting plane, something that goes faster then a BH, because they're slow and attack jets have fun ramming, but if you had a transport plane you could get to a destination faster without being rammed.

And you could be sure that some idiot would always fly off in it solo.
Prolly to ram someone else's transport or bail out over the enemy uncappable.

That's why we need an AH-6. *Did you read this EA??? Huh? Take notes*

I'm a bit bipolar . I have not played SF yet but I really like the idea of ATVs being littered around the map. I would love to see this in vanilla BF2. But what I would really like to see is an increase in the amount of vehicles per CP. Say for instance, an extra copy of every vehicle. The game could spawn a new vehicle once someone takes off with one ala the jets on some chinese maps.

                        hmm. maybe add the osprey.

that would be a fun and faster transport with vertical lift and fast forward flight.

I would be happy in sf if the zipline just shot a little further. that would end my need for a ride in most cases. (or if there was some way to "Batman" with the zip and go UP and down. (up slow and down fast) but there goes the need for a grappling hook. i keep waiting to be paired with a grapple holder so together we can pwn. half the time other people dont check to see if someone is following them.. they just take up their grapple/zip. i ALWAYS check the minimap.. and if i see alot of people blazing behind me to follow... just leave it.

what I would love to see is tanks with spaces on the back for infantry, maybe 4 or 5 slots. I think it would promote tank & inf team work, just hop on a tank with your squad, drive to a flag, dismount and just cover each other.

I think the amount of offensive vehicles is just fine. I would like to see the number of infantry transports double, however.
