CAtalyst 5.13 driver WARNING!!!!!

DO NOT D/L-Install the new Catalyst Driver, it is hosed.
Let me explain.
Last night running the 5.12, all was well. Night or day maps, no plroblems.
I went to fileplanet, the new Catalyst Driver was there, naturally I D/L and installed it.
Couple of hours later I was playing SF, and I noticed on all the night maps all glare, lense-flare, fog, shadows, and bright lights were throwing crazy "ghosts" all over my screen. I reloaded the drv. no help. If you know how to roll back to 5.12, drop me a line. Thanks. Jamie

Known Issues for Catalyst® Software Suite 5.13

The following section provides a summary of open issues in the latest version of Catalyst®. These include:

• BattleField 2 Special Forces: A blooming or ghosting effect may be noticed when playing the game in night vision mode. Further details can be found in topic number 737-21263

Uh, the lense flare problem came out with 5.12 and simply carried over because these two were released literally a week or so from each other.

5.13 is an update for video playback from what I was reading about prior to it's release. They're just mentioning that they realize there's a problem. Doesn't mean the driver's bad. At least they fess up when they realize a problem. And pretty quickly too. Dice/EA still avoids talking about peformance issues whenever they do interviews about upcoming and existing patches.

Kuch. This issue is even written in the release note under the topic Known Issues. I had this issue in 5.12 as well, it's the ghosting effect you get when turning nIght Vision on. Nothing terrible, but it is indeed annoying. Though it has for most people nothing to do with the latest drivers, I had exactly the same in 5.12.

5.1 came out Monday, I have been running 5.12 for 5 or 6 weeks, explain how they came out a week or so from each other?

Yet again you are talking nonsense, don't make a habit of that.

5.11 got released on 11-11-2005

5.12 got released on 09-12-2005

How on earth could you have used it for 5 or 6 weeks when it's out for just 12 days. Truly nonsense.

5.12 had the same blooming issues on the night-vision as 5.13 has now, it's a know issue, it's even in the release notes. Don't warn people for stuff which is well know and don't sell us nonsense, there is absolutely no need for that.

Also, normally ATi releases about 12 drivers a year, each month a new driver. 5.12 should be the last, but this year they want to bring an extra 5.13 before X-Mas with some extra features improvements. Therefore there is less than 2 weeks between both versions (5.12 and 5.13).

I'd say try it..you can always roll back.

Especially if you want a lot of videos on your machine...
