the game ran perfect 1 hour before I put the new video card in? would that still be a punkbuster issue?

Probably not..but keeping pb up-to-date is always a good idea. Unfortunately, it shouldn't be something we have to worry about..but it is.

well my ping in game shows about 100-130 randomly moving and yes i do laggg alot in the game and sometimes it says conection problem or something and disconects me

Sorry i dont have a solution but i seem to be having the same problem with COD2. Im getting pings of like 500 and the more people on the server the higher the ping gets. Maybe its your Internet Service Prvider... firewall.... or anti virus????

When you instlaled the new video card did you uninstall the old one and clean the old drivers?

Ok so its my turn. :hmm:

Guess ill have to contact EA and find out what the deal is. Ive read countless posts on the high latency/ping forums. I cannot get anything lower than 150 latency. I have done ping test after test. Updated punkbuster. Used 3rd party programs. Even contacted my ISP and everthing checks out great. I have also tried many different online games and only in BF2 do i get a high latency/ping all other games i never go above about 95. WoW on a full server in a PvP fight with over 100+ players on the screen in an enemies city with NPC's my ping never goes above about 115.

Id post all my connection info and the ping tests and all that but youll just say it all looks great lol. This game used to run great and i havent changed anything on my comp. Some days i get awsome latency/ping but most recently it has been horrible.

I have yet to test this system on a T1 line but i will asap.

Well, you could try seeing if you can upgrade the firmware in your router or forward/trigger port 16567.

Firmware is upgraded. Would forwarding the ports even help? I was under the impression that forwarding wouldnt do much unless im hosting. Ill give it a try.

Disconnected from the internet and reset up the network and played with alot of settings... so far so good lol not sure exactly what i did since i did alot of things to make sure i didnt miss anything. Pings are back in the 30's so woohoo... Not sure how long it will last.

hi,
this might sound silly but whenever pings get high the only thing i need to do is goto battlefield folder in MY DOCUMENTS and select your Dmp folder and delete all in it except " patchlog.txt" and "patchlog.xp1.txt" if ya got special forces installed. Next is "logocache" everything inside that folder gets deleted, now Do not Delete the acual folder just it's contents.Next is "MOD" folder, Del anything that has {D- whatever} in there. restart the game and it should optimize once and ya should be good to go. Hope this helps !!
