Yeah, and no matter where you hit someone with it, that person would be done. I don't care if you hit him in the arm. Chances are he would no longer have that arm hence taking him out of the fight. The .50 cal round was not made to take out personel, it is designed to take out equipment. Per the "Laws of war" (which we seem to be the only country that follows them) drawn up during the Geneva convention, it is illegal to fire at personel with a .50 cal weapon.....so if you do happen to mow someone down with one all you have to say is that you were aiming at his canteen or ammo pouch.

M14's own. But the TRUE sniper rifle that should have been new should have been the stoner for the SEALS.

coulda been silenced which would have added a better aspect to the snipers rather than it just being identicle to the SVD in stats. Plus it has 20 rounds per mag.

Maybe in a future patch they will add a M14 sniper and a P90 for anti tank so they all the kits get two unlocks.

I luuuv the SVD, but not as much as the M24. on the other hand , I find the M95 to be useless, exept when I'm playing chinese.
Half of the time the bullet doesn't hit even when you've got the guy's head in the crosshairs.
But that will hopefully be fixed in 1.2 (unless "Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy" means "decrease the accuracy some more" to DICE)

How do you know it was this sniper rifle meant to be an unlock? Why didn't they make it one then?

Because according to www.marines.com it has a nightvision scope and also a flash suppresent scope that could be implemented. Both things could be more than useful to a sniper in SF.

Oh god, not this again. This is an old urban legend, many people bring this up, yet they are never able to quote the part of the hague or geneva conventions that supposedly contains this "law". This is because there is no such law, period.

Most western countries signed the hague and geneva conventions btw (not only the US "which seems to be the only country that follows them"), the US is oftentimes rather slow in signing conventions that could hinder it´s freedom of action. For example it is one of the 40 countries that did not sign the 1997 ban of AP mines treaty.

Are u kidding me? There IS NO M16 that fires 7.62x51 NATO rounds (they're not crap, almost all sniper rifles use em). ANd u must not know what a M14 DMR (designated marksman rifle) is either? Well, let's go back in time, after WWII, our main infantary weapon was the M1 Garand (a nice powerful semi auto rifle). After the AK-47 showed how good assault rifles were, many manufacturers made new 7.62 NATO round assault rifles (FAL, M14, G3 etc.). THe M14 is based on teh M1 Garand, it is lighter, smaller, has a 20 round mag, and can fire in full auto. The M14 was a good weapon, but it was too clumsy in battle, so they changed to teh space age, superlight M16. The M14 is a TOTALLY different rifle, and if u don't believe me, trust the number one gun site in teh world: http://world.guns.ru/assault/as15-e.htm
Does that rifle look at all like an M16, no, not at all. THe thing is like almost all wood and metal, compared to the M16's plastic and metal. Nowadays, in the special forces, we have two types of M14s in use, the DMR, and the EBR (enhanced battle rifle). BOth now use polymers (plastic) instead of wood. They are very nice weapons.

an Msg-90 silenced would of been nice. It was my favorite gun in Ghost Recon's Navy seals mod.

Either the Walther WA2000 or the MSG90.

The Stoner SR-25 would have been the bestttttttttttttttttttttt sniper for Sf.

or the Tac ops Tango 51.
